Chapter 4

At school that day Grace had no one to talk to in the morning. She would have talked to Jacob, but he is always late. She looked over at Alexa and Chloe and rolled her eyes-Alexa caught her looking and came up to Grace, "I never want to see your face ever again!" Grace looked down. Alexa marched back to her locker with Lily and Chloe right behind her. Grace took out her phone and called Jacob, "Hey are you almost here. I have been waiting for 20 minutes." He whispered, "Yeah. Are you on speaker phone because I need to tell you something?" She responded, "Um no I'm not." He replied, "Alexa wants to get back together with me. She wants me to break up with you." Grace exclaimed, "That little bitch. I thought we had a solid relationship, Jacob." He whispered in an aching voice, "We do. Its just I don't know what would be best." She replied, "See you soon." He exclaimed, "I love you, Grace." She mumbled, "Yea."

Jacob came into their first period class 20 minutes after the bell. Grace was saving the seat next to her. Lucky them this was their free period. So, they both discussed what was going on. Grace asked, "Are you going to break up with me for Alexa?" Jacob replied, "I may." She tuned around and faced the wall. Jacob picking at his shirt, "Well, hey listen." Grace turned around and pointed one ear toward him. Jacob exclaimed, "What I will do is, 'break up' with you. What I mean by that is do it in public so Alexa can see us. We don't really break up; we pretend that we do. Then I 'get back together' with Alexa. She will think that I was serious about the 'relationship '." Grace asked, "What if you become serious about it too?" Jacob dropped his eyes, "I won't. The only relationship I will ever be serious about is ours." She turned around and gave Jacob a big hug. He said, "That's why I spent over $1,000 on our first date." She smiled.

At lunch Alexa approached Jacob and Grace, "Break up with her!" Whispering in her ear, "Okay, I will give me a second." Alexa responded, "Okay, I will take her milk and dump it on your head and blame it on her." Grace looked at each one when they whispered in each other's ears. Jacob responded, "Okay, I'm ready." Alexa grabbed Grace's milk carton and shoveled the milk onto Jacob's head. Then she tossed it back on Grace's tray, "Wow, nice job Gracie Wacie! Are you wearing your stuffed bear?" Grace stared at the floor. Then Jacob exclaimed, "What the hell is your problem Grace? We are done." She ran to the bathroom trembling. She started throwing up in the toilet and crying. When she came out of the bathroom she found Alexa and Jacob making out right in front of the whole cafeteria. Grace quickly ran out of the door limping to her car. She drove off.
