Faline was devastated of the pink axolotls death, it was a tragedy. Faline cried for hours. He couldn't believe he met his soulmate and lost it so quickly. He was single for such a long time, he finally found love and it was cut short.
He is still in grief... 'It's like a break-up but they still love you.'
