"𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐃𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔?!"

"would you like me to do it again?" ethan asked annabeth drily.

september had started, and with it came percy, annabeth, ethan, and the stolls' school year. just like last year, annabeth, aurora, ethan and the stolls were living together so that they could all go to school in new york. somehow, aurora had convinced mom to give the kids a nice, big penthouse suite. the place must've been enchanted, because i had no idea how they managed to keep it together on their own.

but the dishes were always done, the floors were always clean, and nothing ever broke. it was magical, no other explanation.

aurora, ethan, and connor went to goode high school (the one percy used to go to). annabeth went to some gifted high school which had a focus on architectural design and engineering. and travis was in college now. he was going to go to new rome, but he'd worked hard to get accepted into new york university and he had decided that he wasn't going to let that go to waste. 

which was fair. he'd brough his gpa up a whole three letter grades.

after school, i'd invited them to avengers tower to hang out... which ended up turning into a mario kart brawl.

annabeth, aurora and i raced on one t.v. screen, while percy, ethan, connor, and travis raced on the other. annabeth had been second, but ethan threw a banana, causing her to crash into travis and fall to last place.

"this is why i don't like you," she grumbled. "riles, you could've chose any other friend, like literally anyone else. but nope! you had to choose the biggest asshole there was, didn't you?"

"i don't like you either," ethan responded nonchalantly.

"girls, girls, girls, quit fighting," connor said. "and move out of the way, or else i'll pummel you."

"fat fucking chance!" ethan retorted.

"ha! i've spent too much time with your girlfriend to be scared of you," connor laughed.

"it's true," percy confirmed. "they've literally titled aurora 'the scary one'."

"they're not wrong," aurora grinned wickedly, throwing a banana out of her kart and making connor spin out.

"hey!" 

"quit fighting!" i told them all, maneuvering my kart around percy, and passing him to get second place.

"i let you do that," he muttered.

the group snickered.

the commotion drew nat's attention, and i felt her enter the room and furrow her brows at us. she knew what mario kart was, she just didn't understand why it made us so competitive. maybe because she refused to play.
