"Let's go home now." Charlotte announced, giving her hand to Hwa, who shook his head, hiding behind Seonghwa. "Hwa, come on, it's time to leave."
"No, I want daddy." Charlotte gently grabbed him out of Seonghwa's back, and carry him. He tried wiggling, telling Charlotte to let go, but Charlotte started to walk away. "Nooooo! I want daddy!" He cried out loud, making everyone look at their direction. "I want daddy!" Seonghwa unconsciously raised his hand as if wanting to hold his child. He can't bear to hear the cry of Hwa. Even though Charlotte and Hwa are already on the ground floor, they can still hear his cry.
Charlotte stopped walking, wiping Hwa's face. He didn't stop crying, and continue to scream his daddy's name, saying he wanted to go with him. "Hwa please, don't you want your mommy anymore?"
"I want daddy!" He cried, and sob. Then he wiggle again. "Aunt let me go." His cry only getting louder. His eyes dart to where Seonghwa is. He stretch out his arm to Seonghwa, opening and closing his tiny hand. Seonghwa sighed heavily, deciding to approach them. "Daddyyyyy!" He cried again, leaving Charlotte no choice but to put him down. Upon landing on his feet, Hwa escape from Charlotte's hold, running to meet Seonghwa midway.
Seonghwa opened his arms, letting Hwa wrap his tiny limbs on Seonghwa's neck. When Seonghwa rose up, Hwa wrapped his legs on his waist like he was scared of being taken away. Seonghwa put his arm under Hwa's butt, while the other one pat his back, comforting him. "Oh my gosh, I can't believe you'll end up leaving us behind once meeting your father." Charlotte sulk, looking at Hwa in betrayal. Hongjoong catch up to them, laughing at Charlotte's reaction. "You don't want to see your mommy anymore?"
Hwa's cry died down, turning in to a sob. Seonghwa wiped his son's face smiling at him. Hwa looked at Charlotte his one hand, still on his father's neck. He's sobbing and look at Charlotte, the corner of his lips point downwards. "I want mommy."
"Then let's go." Charlotte was about to get him, but he immediately turn to Seonghwa again holding on Seonghwa's neck tightly. "I thought you want your mommy?" Hongjoong give Charlotte a look, then shook his head.
"Let them bond for awhile. He must be overwhelmed for seeing his daddy, that he's been waiting to come home." Hongjoong explain, making Charlotte understand. It seems like, Hwa won't let go anytime soon. Charlotte sighed saying, she will let Hwa go with them, but should return him after.
"I'm going now," She told Hwa. The poor toddler nodded saying sorry to Charlotte. She can't hold grudges to a toddler can she? Charlotte squint her eyes, pinching Hwa's cheek. "It's okay, take your time with your daddy okay?" Hwa nodded, kissing her on the cheek. She waved them goodbye, going back to their apartment alone. Morgan won't be home soon, so she have time to think of an explanation on why Hwa's not with him.
Seonghwa drive to their company, Hwa on the backseat with Hongjoong. He got tired from crying, that he end up sleeping on Hongjoong's lap. When they arrived, Seonghwa enter the half of his body inside the backseat, taking Hwa from Hongjoong. Everyone looked at him, especially the toddler he's carrying. Curiosity written all over their faces. They greeted Seonghwa silently, as they watched Hwa's peaceful figure on Seonghwa's arm.
Hongjoong opened Seonghwa's door, and lay Hwa on the couch. "I'll go now Hwa, I still have something to do." Seonghwa nodded, and watch Hongjoong left the office. He bit his lips, calculating the possibilities if he ever leave Hwa on the couch, to continue his job. Having a complicated decision, Seonghwa end up calling his assistant who was surprised to see Hwa.
Seonghwa told him to drive him home, because he's leaving early. Prolly because of his child. His assistant, Eric, despite the curiosity eating him up, he kept his mouth shut, not wanting to wake the toddler on Seonghwa's arms. And when they reached home, Seonghwa asked him to open the front door and his bedroom's door. Tucking Hwa on his blanket.
When he closed the door, following Eric out of the house, he hand him the key, Eric gave him when they were on his bedroom. "Use the car to go back on the company."
"I can just use taxi." Eric declined, glancing upstairs. "Sir, who is that child?"
Seonghwa clicked his tongue. If he won't tell him, it was like he's denying Hwa as his child. And if he will tell him, nothing would change, maybe. Because everyone will eventually know. So he decided to tell him the truth. "My child." Eric's mouth gape, taking a step backward. He blink at Seonghwa, looking at his face intently trying to figure out if he's lying. "Believe it or not, it's my son."
"Wow.." Eric shake his head in disbelief and chuckle. "No wonder why he looks like you. Anyway," Seonghwa raised his eyebrows. "I have no cash." Eric smiled sheepishly, scratching his head. Seonghwa chuckle, and took out his wallet to hand Eric few bills. Waving him goodbye.
Few hours after, Hwa woke up finding his mommy, but when Seonghwa answer he smiled and run to his arm. They played card games, Seonghwa surprised to know Hwa can already read and distinguish colours and also numbers. So he asked him where did he learned that. Hwa proudly told him, his aunt Charlotte, his teacher is tutoring him everyday.
He chuckle remembering, Charlotte is now a license teacher. Then he also remember, Morgan's friends probably teach his child many more things. He kinda felt jealous at Hongjoong, that he have witnessed Hwa's development. He wished it was him, however he also thought of Morgan's possible reason, and thought there's a valid reason on why he just found out that today. But in general, Seonghwa's really happy that he doesn't have to introduce himself to his child anymore. Because he seemed to know more about him, he observe how talkative Hwa is. And how he always asks about many things.
He tap Hwa's nose giggling. "You're such a nosey, like your mother." Hwa smiled cheekily, snuggle closer to him in embarrassment. Seonghwa laugh hugging him. "Why?" He cupped Hwa's face, smiling so widely that his jaw felt numb.
"Nothing, aunt Charlotte always call me 'mini Morgan' because I ask questions a lot." Seonghwa chuckle on his confession, kissing his child's forehead. He didn't know he would love this feeling of having a son, to adore. He showered him with kisses, saying he missed him, playing along with what Hwa believes. "Me too! Daddy, don't go far again, let's live together with mommy." He looked up to his father, eyes filled with hope.
Seonghwa's smile slowly fade. He stared at his son's face, his eyes mirrored his. He wished the same, God knows how much he's longing for Morgan. He nodded, giving Hwa a reassuring smile. "I'll do my best. Do you want to eat?" Hwa bobbed his head, telling Seonghwa he wants snack. They got out of the room, Seonghwa holding his tiny hand protectively as Hwa, jump on each step of the stairs. "Be careful."
"Daddy your house is so big."
"It's not mine."
"Eh?"
"It's my parents', your grandma and grandpa."
"Really?" Seonghwa nodded. He watched Hwa looked around the house in awe. He's fascinated by everything around him, making Seonghwa emotional. When they reached the kitchen, a loud thud was heard startling them. "Daddy!" Hwa exclaimed in horror, jumping to Seonghwa's arm.
"Daddy, what?!" Seonghwa's mother stood on the kitchen, watching them in big eyes. Hwa glance at her, making her jaw dropped. She pace to them scanning Hwa from head to toe. "Oh my gosh," her eyes shifted to Seonghwa and the child. She laugh in disbelief, shaking her head thinking she's seeing things. "Seonghwa tell me this isn't a dream, why are you holding your young-- wait," she approach them narrowing her eyes to Hwa's face. "Oh, it's different child, but it looks like you when you are still a kid."
"It's my son."
"WHAT?!"
