Chapter 1: The Bullet Blondes

3rd Person POV

The Legends walk towards the waverider

"Well, that's that." Nate says

"Yeah, I'm kind of nervous." Ava says. "Things rarely wrap up in a neat little bow for us."

"No, come on, babe. Don't be paranoid. Life is gonna start going our way." Sara says

And then a duplicate waverider swooshes through the sky, blows up the team's waverider, and then flies away. The second the explosion hit, Brooklyn grabbed Maddie from the ground and shielded her daughter with her own body

"What the hell?" Astra questions

"What the hell happened?" Nate asks as the group looks at the pieces of the waverider in the middle of the grass fields. Brooklyn puts Maddie back on the ground, giving her explicit directions in Russian not to touch anything

"Did that look like another Waverider to you guys?" Gary asks

"Why is someone trying to kill us?" Ava asks

"There must be hundreds of reasons why someone would want to kill us." Astra says

"Well, we're not gonna let 'em get away with it, are we?" Spooner says. "I say we portal back in time and on to that rogue Waverider and make them pay."

"That is a perfect plan." Sara says. "Now let's go gear up, cause we're gonna storm that ship and save our Waverider." The group makes thei way into the Cruz house where they gear up. "Remember, when we get on that ship, stealth is our friend."

"Silent takedown. Got it." Astra confirms

"Wake me when the firefight starts." Spooner says

"You guys take out the crew, and Behrad and I'll take control of the ship." Ava says. "Brooke, you and Maddie hang back until it's clear."

"Understood." Brooklyn responds with a nod, pulling Maddie away from where Nate was about to open the portal

"Nate, let's do this." Sara tells him

"Here we go." Nate says, touching the button on his watch to open the portal. But it doesn't work. "It's out of juice."

"What?" Sara questions, grabbing Nate's wrist to see the watch

"Every time with those things." Zari mutters

"Wait, no time couriers, no Waverider... we're stuck in 1925." Sara realizes

Everyone is talking at once when Sara calls the group together. "Everybody just calm down." Sara tells the group. "We just need a little time, and we'll think of a plan." She says as Maddie plays with a makeshift doll from 1925 that used to be Spooner's

"Well, we definitely don't belong in this time period." Ava says. "We need to avoid any unwanted attention from the locals."

And then, there's a knock at the door. Brooklyn whips her gaze to her four-year-old daughter who was on the floor playing with the doll. Seeing that Maddie was positioned closer to Nate than herself, Brooklyn snaps her fingers in Nate's direction and points to Maddie. Immediately, he scoops up the child with the doll and rushes to hide her behind the couch

Spooner half opens the door to a man. "Afternoon, ma'am. Name's Pastor Hanson." Hanson says. "Is Gloria home?"

"Yeah, she's not here right now." Spooner says
