3rd Person POV

The car begins to break down as Behrad pulls over in the middle of town

"All right. We gotta ditch Hoover's car." Nate tells the Legends. "APB's probably already out on the Bullet Blondes."

"It's fine." Sara says, opening the back door of the car and stepping out. She turns to grab Maddie's hand as Brooklyn passes her daughter off of her lap so that she can get herself out of the car. "From here, we'll just hop a train to New York."

"Ugh. Another train, must we?" Behrad asks

"By my math, we should have enough left for three tickets." Ava says. "The other half can hang out in John's portable phantom house."

"I mean, it's technically my portable phantom house." Zari points out. "But, more importantly, does your math account for Gary's overly generous tipping? He gave our last waitress 20 bucks."

"$20?" Ava questions. "That's over a quarter of our entire budget, Gary."

"$20 for eight people seems fair to me." Gary says and Ava grabs the money to count

"Okay, so what's the damage?" Nate asks. "Do we have enough to get to New York?"

"$35, that's enough for one ticket and a few meals, tipping like a normal person in 1925." Ava tells the group, shooting Gary a look

"All right, I call phantom house 'cause I'm over trains." Nate says

"We still have to get across town and on that train, without anyone recognizing us." Sara says

"Well, then we stopped at the right place." Zari says, pointing to a store across the street. "Ladies, let's go." She says, and the girls cross the street to go into the store

Sara grabs a hat from a shelf. "I think, yes." She says

"Yes, it's very cute." Ava says. "But we need to hide the blonde, babe." She says

Brooklyn follows Maddie around the store as the 4 year old looks at the hats on the bottom shelves. Sara and Ava look at more disguises

"Oh, no, no, no, no, no. We're in the 1920s." Zari tells Sara and Ava. Brooklyn turns to look as Zari walks over to the counter. "Sir, can we see all your wigs that are bobs?" She asks the man who ignores her and reads his newspaper. "Um, hello? Potential customer here. I asked you a question, which any good salesman would take as an opportunity to upsell your finest wigs?" He doesn't answer. Zari turns to look at the others and Brooklyn turns her head in confusioln. "Is he..."

"Um, hello?" Sara asks the man. "Yeah, she asked you a question."

"Oh, I'm sorry, miss." The man says. "I didn't realize she was with you. These are the only bobs on display since most of you ladies chop and style your own."

"That's not happening." Ava says

"Well, of course, not with those gorgeous locks." The man says. "Let me see what I can find in the back." He says, walking to check the back

"Racist dick." Zari mutters

"I'm sorry." Sara whispers to Zari. "Let's just get these disguises and get outta here, yeah?"

"Yeah, it's okay. Sorry." Ava whispers to Zari as Brooklyn walks over to make sure Zari was alright

Just then, the man comes back from the back room with two boxes but he stops in his tracks. "Well, hello there." He says and the group looks over to see that he had stopped short of almost bumping into Maddie who was still playing with a hat. "Well, who do you belong to?" He asks
