11. The decision

I could only look at his eyes, before asking quietly "What is it?" He stayed silent for a minute before speaking up "I seen you work hard to be a good member to the organization and you showed loyalty to us..." I felt bad, for the piece of paper in my pocket, but didn't show it, I kept smiling as he continued "...and I think there might be more to you that you let on, that is why I would like to ask you for your permission...to make you a vampire."

I dropped my glass at his words, it broke into several pieces. The sound made people looking in our way, but it doesn't seem to bother Alucard. "Answer me!" he ordered, looking impatient. He tried to grab my hand, only for me to withdraw "noooo!" I tripped over my own chair onto the floor. He went around the table to help me up, feeling scared I pushed him away "Don't touch me!" I screamed, running away.

I went to the Tower bridge, gaining my breath back, as a figure approached me. "Guten Abend Fräulein!" it was the boy with the cat ears. "Gute...wait, why am I even greeting you? You are the enemy!" I yelled backing away. "Don't say that, you can still come over to our side. To us you are no toy of vampires" he winked at me. "How did yo...." "I'm everywhere and nowhere" he interrupted, touching my hand. "How about you come around and see it for yourself" he offered.

I didn't know what to think. If I go back to Alucard, I might be his blood supply again or his Draculina for all eternity. "And what if I don't like it?" I asked, looking suspicious at him. "You can return to your monster" he said with a smile. I thought it over; I don't know if I am just a burden to Hellsing, as Alucard doesn't seem to show how he truly feels about me.

I remembered what he said towards the moon in Rio: "We sacrifice all allies"

Once I gave him my blood in Rio: "I have not further use for you"

And now in the café: "I want to celebrate this with my partner"

Which side is the real Alucard?

Schrödinger seems to read my mind "If you want, we can show you who he truly is." I looked at him, before giving him my hand "Deal! I come with you. Show me."

In an instant we disappeared from the Tower Bridge. I wasn't aware that Alucard is looking for me through London, only to get back home empty-handed. He hissed at my foolish behavior "Stupid human, how dare she act this way!" he said to himself. He couldn't find an answer to this question, as he doesn't understand them in the first place. He looked up to the moon, a blood tear leaving his eye "Why does she have to be so complicated?"
