Lyric's POV

I picked up the rest of the house trying to keep me busy waiting for the girls. Gerard already left with the boys for the night. I can't believe I am getting married tomorrow. Valentina crawled around following me. She finally stood up and went to go look for Gerard probably. Mikey has been staying with us. He and Alicia are getting a divorce and she is not allowed to show her face tomorrow or I will kill her. Willow came running into the house with my dress and hers. Jamia and Kristin followed behind her. They placed the dresses in the closet and Kristin went straight for Valentina. "Where's the Chinese?" I asked. "Shit, it is in the car." Willow said going back out into the rain. "So you excited for tomorrow?" Jamia asked. "Yes, I just don't want to leave my baby." I said kissing Valentina's head. "Hey at least you know she will be safe since Frank won't want to leave her side." Kristin said. "He asked if he could sleep with her. I seriously need to get pregnant or you will never see your baby for awhile." Jamia said. I laughed. "He's a good godfather." I said smiling. "I'm glad you think so." Frank said walking in with Willow. "Honey, you're a boy." I said. "No, tonight I want to spend some time with the ladies." He said. "Frank, you get her tomorrow. Go be with Gerard." Jamia said. He groaned. "He sent me here to get something anyway." Frank said heading to Gerard's studio. I wondered what he could be getting. He came out with a bag. "Bye ladies." He said. We waved goodbye and I attacked the Chinese. I really wanted my noodles. "I was thinking maybe talking to Gerard about having another baby." I said. "That would be great. Valentina and the baby would only be about two years apart." Willow said. I nodded. "I hated being pregnant but I like having the baby. Plus I wasn't supposed to live long enough to have babies or even get married and I am getting married and I have a beautiful daughter." I said. "Alicia really isn't invited tomorrow." Kristin said. "Nope, Mikey and she are getting a divorce. She is being a huge bitch about the whole situation too." I said. She nodded. I knew she was secretly happy because now she could maybe date Mikey. Since Alicia isn't part of the wedding Bob said he would walk with Valentina down the aisle in case she falls. Mikey is now walking with Kristin and Jamia is walking with Ray. "Okay since you need your beauty rest, I am taking care of the princess tonight." Willow said. I nodded. I really hope she sleeps through the night. I don't want to be able not to comfort her. We all watched a movie then I was forced to go to bed. Willow tucked me in like a baby and I flipped her off. Once she left the room, I climbed out of bed and ran into my closet. I grabbed one of Gerard's shirts and slipped it on my body. I took in his scent and smiled. I climbed back into bed and grabbed my phone. I facetimed Gerard and he answered. "They forced you to go to bed too." He said. I nodded. "I love you." I said. "I love you too." He said. "I miss you sleeping next to me." I said. "I know, it is lonely here." He said. "Can we just stay connected while we sleep?" I asked. "Of course." He said. "Goodnight baby." I said blowing him a kiss. "Goodnight love." He said blowing me a kiss. I screen-shot him and laid the phone so it was looking at me. We just lied there looking into each other's eyes. I soon felt my eyelids drooping. "Goodnight." I heard Gerard say softly as I fell asleep. I woke up and still saw Gerard's face on my phone. He was fast asleep. "Baby, you need to wake up." I said softly. He smiled a little. "Babe, I will have Mikey come tackle you out of bed." I said. "I am awake." He said smiling. "I love you. See you soon." I said. "I love you too." He said. I climbed out of bed and headed downstairs. I got a cup of coffee and made myself some eggs with toast and jam. Jamia came down with Kristin. They made themselves food and Willow came down with the princess. I whisked Valentina away and kissed her head. Jamia gave me a small bowl of eggs for her and I thanked her. I fed Valentina as the girls ate. As soon as they were done eating, I was forced to go shower. I took Valentina with me so I could just bathe her while I shower. I placed her bath seat in my shower and started the water. I stripped us both and climbed in. I washed her hair and body then sat her in the bath seat. She played with her toys as I washed my hair, face and body. I turned off the water and wrapped myself in a towel. I then picked her up and wrapped her up in her ladybug towel. I headed into my room and placed her on the bed. I pulled on a tee shirt and underwear. I found a pair of comfy shorts and pulled them on. I walked to Valentina's room and put her in play clothes for now. I headed downstairs where the beauty shop has been set up in my house. "The hair stylist will be here to do your hair soon so while we are waiting I am going to get your makeup done." Jamia said. I nodded and sat down. She put on my concealer and then did my blush to make my cheeks glow a little. She moved onto my eyes and did a somewhat thick line of eyeliner then did this shiny metallic silver eye shadow. She handed me my mascara and I put it on. The hair stylist arrived and the girls worked on themselves while my hair got done. She finished within an hour and I was shocked. It looked beautiful. I paid her and thanked her. We got the dresses and everything and put it in the car. We all headed over to the church and headed right to the bridal room. I heard Gerard's voice and I wanted to go kiss him. "No." Willow said. I pouted. I got Valentina dressed while the girls put on their dresses. Willow helped me get into mine. I slipped on my heels and sat down. Kristin put my veil on my head and smiled. "You look beautiful." She said. I blushed. I heard a knock on the door. Willow answered it and there was Lorenzo. "Nonno!" Valentina said. She walked over to him quickly hugging him. "Hello, my nipotina." Lorenzo said kissing her forehead. "We will go check on the boys." Willow said. I nodded as they left. "Lyric, you are like a daughter to me and I love you very much but I really want your father to walk you down the aisle. I know you want him to although you prefer me but you only walk down the aisle once." He said. I nodded. He kissed my forehead. "Thank you." I said. He nodded. He left and I made sure my makeup and hair were okay. There was a knock on the door. "Come in." I said. My mom and dad walked in. "You look so beautiful baby." My mom said hugging me. "Thank you." I said. "I never thought I would see the day." My dad said. "Daddy, will you please walk me down the aisle?" I asked. "I would love nothing more." He said kissing my forehead. Willow came in. "Are you ready?" she asked. I nodded. My mom scurried off to her seat and we all headed into the hallway. Bob took Valentina's hand and they began walking down the aisle as she threw rose petals. I watched the photographer take pictures of her. Willow and Frank then went down the aisle followed by Mikey and Kristin then Jamia and Ray. "You ready sweetheart?" my dad asked. I nodded. He kissed my forehead and pulled my veil over my face. I linked my arm with his and the doors opened. We started walking down the aisle and Gerard's jaw dropped. I couldn't help but blush. My dad and I stopped before the altar. "Friends and Family of Lyric and Gerard, welcome and thank you for being here on this important day. We are gathered together to celebrate the very special love between Lyric and Gerard, by joining them in marriage. All of us need and desire to love and to be loved. And the highest form of love between two people is within a monogamous, committed relationship. Lyric and Gerard, your marriage today is the public and legal joining of your souls that have already been united as one in your hearts. Marriage will allow you a new environment to share your lives together, standing together to face life and the world, hand-in-hand. Marriage is going to expand you as individuals, define you as a couple, and deepen your love for one another. To be successful, you will need strength, courage, patience and a really good sense of humor. So, let your marriage be a time of waking each morning and falling in love with each other all over again." The priest said. My daddy kissed my cheek and handed me off to Gerard then sat down with my mom. He lifted up my veil. "You look gorgeous." He whispered to me. "Thank you." I said. I handed my bouquet to Willow and Gerard and I held hands. "May I ask that the parents of the bride and groom please rise." The priest said. Our parents stood. "This wedding is also a celebration of family. It is the blending of two families that have been separate up to this moment, but united from this day forward – blending their different traditions, strengthening the family tree. To honor this uniting of the families, the bride and groom wish to ask their parent's blessing." He said. He faced my parents. "Heather and Justin, do you offer this couple your goodwill? Do you welcome Gerard as a member of your family and give him your love and affection?" he asked them. "We do." My parents said. He then faced Gerard's parents. "Donna and Donald, do you offer this couple your goodwill? Do you welcome Lyric as a member of your family and give her your love and affection?" he asked them. "We do." His parents said. I smiled at Donna. "We now close our eyes and bring to mind any loved ones who could not be here today. Though they are absent physically, we invoke, through our thought and prayers, their loving presence. We pray that God might multiply beyond measure the blessings from these loved ones to this loving couple, and any children who might one day be a part of this union. Now, from our hearts, we ourselves visualize and sanctify all the blessings we would bestow on Lyric and Gerard in their lives as a couple and a family. And in our sincere desire to bless, we in turn, are blessed also. Blessed Be." He continued. I thought of my grandfather and how he couldn't be here. I know he wishes his grandmother Elena could be here. "To make this relationship work, therefore, takes more than love. It takes trust, to know in your hearts that you want only the best for each other. It takes dedication, to stay open to one another, to learn and grow, even when it is difficult to do so. And it takes faith, to go forward together without knowing what the future holds for you both. While love is our natural state of being, these other qualities are not as easy to come by. They are not a destination, but a journey. The true art of married life is an inner spiritual journey. It is a mutual enrichment, a give and take between two personalities, a mingling of two endowments, which diminishes neither, but enhances both. So it is on this summer day, let us rejoice yet know that we are here not just to observe but also to participate in this marriage ceremony. May we all remember that the path of love is meant to be walked together with God and with all of humanity. No persons in a love relationship can have meaning apart from their family, their friends and their community. These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, that are holding yours on your wedding day as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow and forever. These are the hands that will work along side yours as together you build your future. These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch will comfort you like no other. These are the hands that will hold you when fear or grief temporarily comes your way. These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes, tears of sorrow and tears of joy. These are the hands that will tenderly hold your children. These are the hands that will give you support and encouragement to chase down your dreams. These are the hands that will hold you tight as you struggle through difficult times. These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it. These are the hands that will lift your chin and brush your cheek as they raise your face to look into eyes that are filled with overwhelming love for you. And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch. We are here today, to celebrate the love that Lyric and Gerard have for each other and to give social recognition to their decision to commit their lives and accept each other totally. Do you Gerard take Lyric, to be your lawfully wedded wife, to share your life openly, standing with her in sickness and in health, in joy and in sorrow, in hardship and in ease, to cherish and love forever more?" He said. "I do." Gerard said. "Do you Lyric take Gerard, to be your lawfully wedded husband, to share your life openly, standing with him in sickness and in health, in joy and in sorrow, in hardship and in ease, to cherish and love forever more?" he said. "I do." I said. "Lyric and Gerard are here to marry each other. No one else's will can create such a union. It is their words, their intentions, and their vision that must define and shape this marriage. So I call upon them now to state their promise before this group: the pledges that will bind them together. Lyric, as you look into Gerard's eyes, please say your vows." He said. "Gerard, I love you more than anyone else in the world. I can never thank you enough for loving me. I don't know where I would be without you today. You are letting me live out my dream. I never thought I would have a daughter let alone be able to get married. I am at a loss for words to what to say to you but thank you for sticking by my side. I can't wait for our future together." I said. Gerard smiled. "Gerard, as you look into Lyric's eyes, please say your vows." He said. "Lyric, when I saw you in that café I was entranced by your beautiful emerald eyes and at that moment I knew I was in love. I was so happy you showed up at the concert and I was able to see you again. I was ecstatic when you agreed to be mine. I promised I would never leave your side and here we are. We have an amazing, beautiful, smart and kind daughter and she is growing older every day. I would've never thought I would fall in love again but I did. I love you more than all the stars in the sky." Gerard said. "Though we have heard the vows, which have been shared by Lyric and Gerard, words, once spoken, are carried away on the wind. Therefore, the wedding ring is a visible symbol of the promises that have been made. Gerard, as you place the ring on Lyric's finger, please repeat after me: With this ring, I marry you and bind my life to yours. It is a symbol of my eternal love, my everlasting friendship, and the promise of all my tomorrows." The priest said. Gerard repeated after him and slipped my ring onto my finger. "Lyric, as you place the ring on Gerard's finger, please repeat after me: With this ring, I marry you and bind my life to yours. It is a symbol of my eternal love, my everlasting friendship, and the promise of all my tomorrows." He said again. I repeated him and slipped Gerard's ring on his finger. "May these rings remind you that your love, like the sun, warms all that it touches, like the moon, brightens up the night, like the eye, is a gateway to your innermost soul. And your love, like the arms that embrace you, makes everything right with the world." The priest said. I want this to be over soon so I can kiss Gerard right now. "Lyric and Gerard, you came here today, in the presence of family and friends, to express your love for, and commitment to each other.  Your lives are forever changed. Now, you can face your fears, for you each will be strength to the other. Now, you can brave the wind, for you each will be shelter to the other. Now, you can reap the rewards, for you each will be partner to the other. Now though you are two bodies, there is one life before you. And there, in that life, may you always find love. Lyric and Gerard, you have expressed your love to one another through the commitment and promises you have just made. It is with these in mind that I pronounce you husband and wife. You have kissed a thousand times, maybe more. But today the feeling is new. No longer simply partners and best friends, you have become husband and wife and can now seal the agreement with a kiss. Today, your kiss is a promise. You may kiss the bride." He finally said. I smiled. Gerard took me in his arms and dipped me down. I giggled while he smirked. He kissed me and I held his face in my hands. I heard everyone cheering and a camera clicking. "Ladies and Gentlemen, family and friends, it is my pleasure to present, for the first time anywhere, Mr. And Mrs. Lyric and Gerard Way!" he said. Everyone cheered louder. Valentina ran up to us and hugged us. Gerard picked her up and held her on his waist. Willow handed me my bouquet and I interlaced my fingers with Gerard's. We walked down the aisle and everyone threw rice at us. We climbed into the limo to head to the reception hall. Gerard kissed me again. "Now we are a proper family." He said. We both kissed Valentina's cheeks. She giggled. We climbed out of the car and headed inside. Valentina ran over to Mikey and he picked her up. "Here they are Mr. and Mrs. Way." Frank yelled. The DJ began our song for our first dance. Beauty and the Beast played throughout the hall and my eyes never once left Gerard's as we danced around the room. When we finished dancing and we all ate. My dad stood up and clinked his glass. "Marriages, like births, mark a new beginning. The day I drove home from the hospital after Lyric was born was a new beginning for me. To be the father of a daughter seemed a bit overwhelming but anticipation for her life and for our relationship helped me overcome my fears and work hard to be a father worthy of such a daughter. I know that at one point she thought she lost us but over the years we have found our way back to her. Today, we stand at another new beginning as Lyric and Gerard start a brand new family. Like me, they are probably filled with a feeling of being a little overwhelmed at it all, but those feelings will melt away in large part as they anticipate their new life together and as they build a relationship that will stand the test of time. Be true to each other always; share your joys and your burdens; love much and laugh much; be each other's best friend. Always speak well of one another, even in private. And when things don't go well, forgive as often as it is required. Married life is an adventure and you embark today on that adventure together. Even though you are individuals, your covenant today makes the couple more important than either of you separately. One day, if you are fortunate as I have been, you will stand in awe of a new life entering your family. That will be another beginning, filled with apprehension and anticipation as you probably did experience when you brought Valentina into this world. Bring to that relationship the same level of love and commitment you do to your marriage, and you will find joy beyond compare. So today, your friends and family surround you as you begin something new and marvelous. Remember your promises, keep them with all your heart, and you will have that sense of joy and wonder that exceeds all you have heretofore known. With all my heart, I offer you my congratulations and warmest wishes as you begin the latest adventure life has to offer." He said. I smiled and blew him a kiss. We cut the cake and took bites out of it as Sugar, Sugar played. We then went around the room thanking everyone for coming. We walked over to his parents and Donna enveloped me in a hug. "Welcome to the family." She said. "I'm glad to be part of it." I said smiling. "Now it is time for the father daughter dance." The DJ announced. I saw my dad and he came over. The DJ started Isn't She Lovely. We danced around the floor. I watched Gerard bring Valentina out to dance. I smiled and my dad kissed my head then passed me to Lorenzo. "You look so beautiful." He said kissing my head. The song ended and we parted. "Time for the mother son dance." The DJ said. Gerard took his mother's hand and the DJ began playing Through the Years. I smiled as I watched them dance. We spent the rest of the time dancing and socializing. It was finally time for the bouquet toss. All the girls gathered including Valentina. The DJ played Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. I threw the bouquet and turned around. Valentina caught it. "Nope, not happening for at least 50 years." Gerard said. Everyone laughed. Everyone went back to dancing and talking. It was finally the end of the night and time for the last dance. Gerard grabbed my hand and pulled me out into the middle of the dance floor. The DJ began playing Save the Last Dance for Me. We finished dancing and headed to the limo. Frank handed me Valentina. "I love you sweetie. We will be back in one week. Please be good for Aunty Jamia and Uncle Frank." I said kissing her cheek. She nodded. "I love you too Mommy." She said burying her face in my hair. I tried not to cry. I handed her to Gerard. "I love you princess. Be good." He said kissing her head. He handed her back to Frank. We climbed into the limo and it left. I turned around and saw Valentina waving with little tears rolling down her cheeks. I stared crying. "She will be alright. She knows we love her and we will call her every night before she goes to bed." Gerard said. I nodded and kissed him. "I love you." I said. "I love you too Mrs. Way." He said. I smiled and kissed him again. We changed into comfy clothes in the limo and got out heading to get our bags from the trunk. The limo driver was going to bring our clothes from the wedding back to Willow. We thanked the driver and headed into the airport. "Now let's enjoy ourselves." Gerard said as we headed to the terminal. "I will always be happy as long as I'm with you." I said. He smiled and kissed me.
