BEING FRIENDS WITH AN OLD ENEMY,
it's the most awkward experience Avery was going
through at the moment. She was giving a fake
smile to Dustin every time she passed him or he
would join her. One thing that lingered inside her
mine was, why was he so clingy?

Dustin was always wanting to be by her if she
hadn't escaped yet. He'd play with her fingers, her
hair, her sleeves of her sweaters, and he was the
most annoyed person when she wasn't at school
or even around.

Sometimes it would be annoying to Avery, but it
soon became a habit it for her to be the same. The
touching had became their thing rather quickly,
it had been a two weeks since they became friends.
All of this happened in two weeks, but she still felt
awkward around him from time to time.

"Avery!" somebody called out, the brunette was
currently skipping class is to avoid community
service. "Avery, wait up!" they called out again,
she sighed turning her head to see a taller boy in
her front view.

"Shouldn't you be in class, Dustin?" Avery asked
with a smile as she held her books in her arm. He
grabbed her books holding them for her, he just
shrugged with a smirk.

"Shouldn't you be in class as well? But i'm not in
the mood to hear all about their fun ideas for the
community." Dustin answered rolling his eyes at
the word fun, Avery chuckled at the boys behavior
while they walked towards the exit.

"Me too, do you wanna go somewhere?" Avery
offered holding out her hand for him to grab, he
didn't think twice before grabbing it as his final
answer. She smiled running to the playground
that stood a couple feet in front of them.

"A playground?"

Avery simply just shrugged like he had done, she
went to the slides with him following. Going up to
go down the slide, Avery hadn't seen a rock that
rested on the third step letting her trip.

The boy's eyes widened in horror as he grabbed
onto her wrist catching her before she fell. Avery
grabbed onto the metal bar looking at Dustin
with embarrassment, he chuckled making her
chuckle along.

She soon played it off about to go down a slide
before her phone buzzed in her pocket, she sighed
picking it up.

"Avery! Come back now, i'm stuck alone in this
weird community service thingy. The others are
on their way soon, come to the bridge by the old
forest we used to go too."

Avery nodded hanging up the phone, she ran to
the school completely forgetting about the boy
who followed shortly. She grabbed her bike and
began to bike off towards the spot where Dustin
was standing at the parking lot confused.

Ignoring the boy who was left stranded, she had
begun to go towards the bridge not being far from
it. Avery finally saw her group fighting over the
trash that flew and laid everywhere.

"The fuck is going on, bitches?" she yelled out
putting her bike on the floor, she smiled at them
walking over to them with her backpack hanging
onto one arm.

"This is so fucking stupid that's what! Also, i'm
pretty sure Brandt and Dustin signed up for this
project as well.." Hayes informed going up to her
with a smile, he reached over giving a hug feeling
like he hadn't seen her in so long.

Over the past couple months of school, everything
had changed for the core four. They had began to
be distant and got more friends. 7th grade was a
struggle they were going through on their own.

"That's fine, hey Shawnie." Avery teased walking
over to the boy with the biggest smile, he grew the
same one hugging her for dear life. They were
the same when it came to family problems and
they were each others platonic soulmate.

"We've missed you!" Ashley cheered running over
to the girl shoving Shawn off. He groaned going to
Hayes with a friend, Avery hugged onto her with
a bigger smile than before.

"Let's get this shit started." Avery ordered to the
three grabbing her own bag and gloves.

The three groaned walking towards their piles,
Avery simply laughed at them going to the other
side where they hadn't touched. Not a little while
later, chatter was heard.

Turning their heads to see the commotion, they all
see Brandt Jackson and Dustin Long walking over
to them with trash bags and fork sticks.

Avery groaned "Fuck me."
