Last night was hectic but also the calming break we all needed from all this training.
Let's just hope we don't have to work too hard.

Maverick was harsh on everyone the past few days with the training of the canyon and being brutal with the "tell his or her family" shit and the "team dead" bullcrap.

He was extremely brutal on Bradley though.

Flashback

Maverick started shouting at Bradley when he defended himself against Maverick's criticism about his flying.

"Why are you dead?" Maverick just looks dumbfounded at Bradley with an awkward tension starting to fill the air.

"Your team leader up there-." He just looks at Bradley same as everyone else.

"Why are you- why is your team dead?"

Natasha interrupts Mav's rant at Bradley.

"Sir, he's the only one who made it to the target." Her determination to help her friend in need outweighs her respect for her superior in the moment.

"A minute late." He sighs again. Probably a dad or jumpy mav thing.

"He gave enemy aircraft time to shoot him down." Mav just looks between Natasha and Bradley then to me and Scarlet with a somewhat saddened expression.

"He is dead. You don’t know that." Mav continues going on and on at Bradley until Bagman decides to join the conversation

"You’re not flying fast enough. You don’t have a second to waste." Bagman turns around to look at Bradley then at Maverick then Bradley again

"We made it to the target." Bradley defends himself again for who knows how many times today.

"And superior enemy aircraft intercepted you on your way out." Mav fights back some part of Maverick doesn't want to say this but the fatherly instinct and his desire to be the dad Bradley lost that fateful day in 1985.

"Then it’s a dogfight." Bradley's defence goes uo again for the 300 millionth time again

" Against fifth-generation fighters." Dumbfounded and blown away Maverick face is back.

" Yeah. We’d still have a chance." Defence this is like 2 toddlers arguing over a new shaky plastic toy

"In an F-18." Im honestly getting sick of this argument so I turn to give 'that look' to Scar.

"It’s not the plane, sir, it’s the pilot." Bradley gives a smug look to my dad.

"Exactly!"

Silence follows, and Bradley smug smile drops.

I stand up for Bradley this time.

" There's more than one way to fly this mission"

And the dreaded voice of Bagman pops into the conversation well, arguement.

"You both really don't get it"

He looks from me to Bradley whilst everyone looks at mav then to us.

"On this mission, a man flies like Maverick here, or a man does not come back"

He looks to Scar, Natasha then me again before saying, "no offense intended"

Bob being an absolute hero steps in, "yet somehow, you always manage."

Mental note: owe Bob one

I zone out a little and sit back down until I here Bagman bring up a very sensitive topic.

"I can’t be the only one that knows that Maverick flew with his old man." Hangman starts.

"That’s enough." My dad tries to handle the situation, he never really got over Goose's death always blamed himself even though it wasn't his fault, it was nobody's fault but he always felt guilty. Guilty for losing goose, guilty for leaving Bradley without a dad and guilty for surving when Goose didn't.

"Or that Maverick was flying when his old man…" Hangman starts to go on.

"Lieutenant, that’s enough!" I could see it in my dad's eyes, in his head in that moment I could see that he was reliving that moment, the moment where the canopy open and Goose hit it then when he finds Goose's body in the water.

Everyone starts clamoring and shouting before Bradley get up and tries to hit Bagman be fore being held back but not enough to stop him from scolding Bagman

"That’s enough. You son of a bitch!"

"Hey, come on!" Bagman acts all smug.

He chuckles then replies "I’m cool, I’m cool. Hey, hey." And the guys holding him back disperse.

"That’s enough." My dad repeats

Bagman's at it again. "He’s not cut out for this mission."

"That’s enough! " Maverick repeats blinking out of the moment of Goose's death.

"You know it." Bagman starts to finish

"You know I’m right."

"You’re all dismissed." My dad dismisses us and I go to Bradley to calm him down before hugging him.

Flashback ends

I woke up next to Bradley on the couch, me in his arms and my arms around his waist whilst my head is by his neck.

"Morning Ams"

"Morning double Brads"

"Really I thought we were past  this double Brads thing"

I look up to him with deviant eyes.

"Never" I pause "Double Brads"

I get up and see half of the guys on the seats and couch and the other half must be in the bedrooms. I can here two sets of snoring from Scar's room. She better give me the details later.

I move to the kitchen to get some cornflakes and milk.

"You want some?" I shout to Bradley

"Yeah" I hear.

I get 2 bowls out and pour some milk then the cornflakes.

"Get your arse in here Bradley"

Somethings never change.
