After the tour around Hogwarts, Mallory and Sirius made their way to Gryffindor Tower for their weekly sleepover. By the time they arrived, the other three boys had already set everything up. All three boys flickered to them, uncertainty flickering across their faces.

"Everything alright?" Peter asked as Mallory and Sirius sank onto a couch, shoulder to shoulder.

"Yeah. Everything's alright," Mallory replied—and she wasn't lying. After spending hours with Sirius, her feelings about Freddy and his new girlfriend had lessened. She wasn't upset anymore.

"Good," James stated, dropping the Monopoly box on the coffee table. "Ready to get your arses kicked?"

Mallory groaned as Sirius laughed and slid off the couch onto the floor. Mallory joined beside him. Across the table, Remus began handing out money while James set up the board.

About an hour later, James let out a dramatically loud yawn. "I'm exhausted," he mumbled, leaning back against the couch as he ended his turn.

"Then go to bed. Nobody's stopping you," Remus replied, taking a handful of popcorn and shaking it in his hand.

"I'll take your properties!" Mallory exclaimed. She reached for the property cards lying in front of James.

"I call the money!" Sirius added. "Mals, pass it!"

"I guess I'll have your hat piece." Peter grabbed the hat game piece off the board and set it on his game token.

"Oi!" James shouted, smacking Mallory's hand away from his cards.

"Ow!" Mallory exclaimed, retreating her hand from James. She held it close to her chest. "I'm telling your mum."

James straightened his property cards. "I don't care. Peter, put my hat back," he insisted.

Peter glared at James as he returned the hat game piece to the board.

"I'm winning. I'm not dropping out," James mumbled.

"This is torture," Mallory grumbled under her breath. Sirius let out a laugh and wrapped an arm around Mallory's shoulders, pulling her into his side.

"We still haven't told Mallory about Project Moony," Peter stated.

"True," Sirius agreed.

"If this is to distract me from the game, I'd like you all to know that I won," James insisted, looking at each teenager with a serious expression.

In the blink of an eye, all the lights went out, including the fire. Mallory huddled closer to Sirius. Peter's face illuminated as he lit the end of his wand. "You have been brought here today to join our pack," he said. Sirius chuckled softly.

"Peter, stop. Just tell her," Remus grumbled.

"It's funny!" Peter argued, turning to Remus with a small frown.

"I'm tired! I want to go to bed!" Remus insisted.

"Oi! Leave him alone, Moony," Sirius barked, unwrapping his arm from Mallory. "You got to tell Mallory how you wanted to, let him do the same."

"No. It's fine. He ruined it already," Peter muttered. With a flick of his wand, the common room was lit again, and with another flick, the fire was crackling in the fireplace. "We're all animals."

"Cheer up, Wormy!" James exclaimed, a bright smile crossing his face. "We're animals!"

Mallory looked over each boy, searching for the plot to their prank. "You're clearly human," Mallory stated.
