Whenever any cybertronian being dies somewhere that is NOT Cybertron they become 'Lost Sparks' these lost sparks, like Breakdown for example will follow the person or mech that they care for the most. The one who has a Lost Spark following them will see their images or hear their voices sometimes.
Due to this Knockout sometimes see Breakdown and starts to tear up and become sad at the reminder of Breakdown.
This also applies to Starscream, he regularly sees Skywarp and Thundercracker, he sometimes sees them in his berthroom or sees them when he's alone. But normally he sees them in the sky flying with him.
Lost Sparks also can choose whether they want to be seen or heard by the followed.
