Caught red-handed

Wednesday stood in the dorm with almost all of
her belongings packed up.

Enid and Y/n were in there with her, Enid was helping her load her stuff into her trunks.

Y/n was packing her things as she heard she was getting expelled as well. She didn't have much to pack.

Wednesday picked up her typewriter from her
desk, put it in its container, and closed it.

Enid picked up one of the squirrels she had
stuffed from her taxidermy kit.

"I can't believe I'm going to miss your creepy
eyes looking at me every time I come in here. It
won't be the same without you."

"So, I assume you two will continue living your
lives, leaving me in the past." Wednesday
commented as she packed up her books.

"Never." Enid promised. "What about you? Will
you forget about me?"

"Enid...the mark you have left on me is
indelible. Anytime I grow nauseous at the sight
of a rainbow or hear a pop song that makes my
ears bleed, I'll think of you." Wednesday told
her.

Enid teared up a little. "Thanks."

Y/n stepped closer to Wednesday and leaned up to her ear. "Do you really think I would ever forget you?"

Wednesday smirked and Y/n went for a hug. Wednesday went to back up but Enid pushed her into the hug.

Y/n wrapped her arms around her and hugged her tight.

"So...will you forget about me?" Y/n asked as she pulled away from Wednesday.

Wednesday shook her head. "You've had an imprint on me ever since I walked through the dorm door for the first time and saw you. I will admit that I had fun with our witch hunt. You helped me a lot with it."

Y/n smiled and lunged towards her, pulling her into another hug.

When they pulled away, Wednesday continued
packing. "I always believed relying on other
people was a sign of weakness. That inevitably
they would lead me to disappointment. Turns
out I've been the disappointment."

"Are you kidding me?" Enid exclaimed. "I've
learned so much from you. Part of it is
admittedly, criminal behavior, but...most
people spend their entire lives pretending to
give zero effs, and you literally never have an eff
to give."

"Not to mention that you are the best friend
I've ever had. And the only friend I've ever
had, I made a couple after meeting you, but still. You've treated me like a Queen ever since we met. Minus all the times you nearly got me killed." Y/n said.

"Any chance you've got some sneaky plan to
elude Weems?" Enid asked hopefully.

Wednesday shook her head. "Xavier's right." She
showed Enid the drawing Rowan gave her.

"This prophecy cannot come true if I'm not
here. But it kills me to leave when Tyler is still
walking around free." She admitted.

"If he tries anything, we have a school full of
Gorgons, vampires, werewolves, and a person who is very powerful when she looses control." Enid said staring at Y/n making her look down in shame.

"But they are ready and waiting. We've got this Wednesday. I promise."

Wednesday looked down, still a little unsure.
"Y/n is getting expelled though, she won't be here."

"Well on a good note, I got a text from Eugene's
moms. He woke up last night."

Wednesday and Y/n perked up at that.

"Maybe Weems will let you drop by on your way"
to the station." Enid suggested."

Thing climbed on top of Wednesday's trunk and
snapped to get her attention. She then gestured
towards the door signaling that it was time to
leave.

Wednesday nodded and closed her last trunk. "I
think we're all set."

Enid turned to Thing. "Thing, I'm going to miss our makeup tutorials. And you better keep sending me moisturizing tips. Stay in touch okay?"

Thing made a fist and Enid fist-bumped him.

Y/n fist-bumped him as well. "Bye Thing. I'm
gonna miss you buddy. Keep Wednesday out of
trouble for me okay? I won't be able to do it myself." She smirked.

Thing nodded and then climbed into
Wednesday's backpack.

Enid sniffled a little and came towards
Wednesday with open arms. "So we're gonna..."

Wednesday stepped back from her, and Enid
dropped her arms.

"You're right. Not hugging is kinda our thing."

...

The Nightshades were standing at the bottom of
a staircase waiting for Wednesday and Y/n. When they came down they approached them, with Bianca up front.

"The plan wasn't to get you two expelled. We're
sorry." She apologized.

"The Nightshades need to be ready for what's
coming. Or a lot of people are going to die." Wednesday warned.

The Nightshades all looked at them with grim
and confused looks, when Ms. Thornhill came
running towards them carrying a plant in her
arms.

"I'm so glad I caught you. I was weeding my
wolfsbane and I just completely lost track of
time. This is a parting gift. I couldn't find you one, Y/n. Sorry."

She handed Wednesday the plant.

Wednesday stared at it. "White oleander, one of
nature's deadliest.

"It also symbolizes destiny and renewal. You're
a very talented young woman, Wednesday. I can't
wait to see what you do next." She said.

Just then, Principal Weems arrived.

"Wednesday. Y/n." She greeted. "This time I'm
personally escorting you to your train."

"I have one final favor." They requested.

...

Eugene sat in his hospital bed, playing with a
stuffed bee he was given, when Wednesday and
Y/n walked in.

"Wednesday! Y/n!" He exclaimed.

"Eugene." They greeted.

"Glad to see you're finally awake." Wednesday said.

"I heard you and Y/n visited me all the time.
He teased.

"Don't ever mention it again." Wednesday stated coldly.

Eugene chuckled lightly.

"Listen, I've been meaning to tell you...Y/n
and I shouldn't have gone to the dance. We
should have been with you."

Eugene shrugged. "No, I should've listened to
you both. Besides, from what I've heard, if you
and Y/n hadn't gone to the dance together,
you wouldn't have become close friends. When the dance floor calls, you gotta answer. It's not
your fault. It's the monster's."

"It's actually called a Hyde." Wednesday told
him. "And it's still out there. You can't go back to Nevermore. Not even to check on your bees.
And you have to listen to me this time. I
thought Hummers were supposed to stick
together."

Eugene thought for a moment.
"That night, someone set fire to that cave."

"Yes, Dr. Kinbott." Wednesday continued.

"It's so crazy that it was her. I don't really
remember any of it. I just saw someone wearing
black and those boots.'

"What about her boots?" Wednesday asked.

"There was an explosion of light and just for a
moment, I saw that they weren't black."

"They were red." Y/n continued. "I saw them when I was attacked in the dorm."

Wednesday's eyes widened. She was wrong. Dr.
Kinbott wasn't Laurel Gates. And now she knew
who was.
