Kagome watched him go, "But..." She started but stopped, he just continued to walk away.
Inuyasha looked at him as he stepped up next to Kagome, "Just leave them, I'm sure we'll see them soon enough."
"But still, I wanted to make sure she was alright." Kagome replied, walking them go.
The young demon lord started to step over the rubble, feeling Chelsea's long wings being dragged across the ground and through the rubble. Extending his fur, he moved it, so it was under her wings, holding them off the ground.
He wanted to find them a quiet area that was safe, for Chelsea to heal and wake up. As he stepped away from the castle, the sky started to clear, it looked to be early in the morning. Looking at her face as he walked; she looked so peaceful in his arm. Her hair was different, but her face was the same, still fair and beautiful with freckles sprinkled across her nose.
He couldn't imagine only saving a piece of her; if he couldn't use his sword, he would have to rely on her sister to bring her back every time...what if she didn't come back? Memories flooded his mind of her; how she took pictures of every sunset, made Rin flower crowns, how she bickered with Jaken. Her smile filled his mind, as she placed a flower crown on his head, her laugh echoed in his head. The way she moved around him, always looking at him with those mischievous eyes, giving him a playful look when she rubbed against him as they
Her face in the moon's glow; when he danced with her in the sky, how she laughed and looked at him with her deep beautiful eyes, that shined. Her blushing face as she would call out his name and clung to him, it made his breath shake. Seeing her tears was hard, she was so passionate.
He almost lost all of it.
Finding a spot with soft moss on the ground surrounding a tree, he tucked into the roots with her in his lap. He wasn't going to let her go again, his thoughts were just encompassed by her. Looking at her fair sleeping face, she looked so peaceful.
He felt his heartbeat hard in his chest for her, thinking about how hurt she was. What the last thing he said to her was, before she ran away. You are useless to me anyway, you said so yourself, you can't have children. What would a lord truly want with a barren woman like you? He didn't want to say it, but he felt like he had to. It did nothing but make it worse, Naraku knows about her now, how is he going to protect his companions?
Then he remembered, pulling a large peach out, he looked at it. This would give Chelsea the ability to have children, but at what price? He looked at Chelsea, she had so much power now. Possibly being able to defend herself till he could get to her, but if she didn't have powers and gave him children. She would be a larger target, and he can't always be with her.
But what would make her happy? He then thought about what her sister said, "To grow to her full potential and fight the gods. Defeat them and bring freedom to all." Her sister's voice echoed in his head, She has a mission she was born to do, even though she doesn't remember. Everything was making sense to him now; why she could do so much, with no explanation as to how or why. She just couldn't remember; he looked at the peach, she wants children but because of all this, she supposedly can't. That's what that witch told him, It doesn't matter what we want, He thought, You took on this burden, and you need to complete this task. Looking at the peach, his claws started to glow green. I don't want this temptation of an option. The peach's glow started to fade, as it melted in his hand, dripping in its sticky liquid to the ground.
After the last bit of it was off his hand, he clenched his fist. Frustration built inside him, and he looked down at her. "You are far from useless to me." He whispered to her as he watched over her. Pulling her tighter into his grasp, holding her closer to his chest. His lips touched her forehead, You have followed me this far, even with your broken heart, I will follow you on your mission till my last breath when we are through with Naraku. My beautiful angel.
