I was so bored at work today, since it was annoyingly slow at the store . I worked in a comic book shop in downtown la so it would usually be packed with all different types of people but today there was no one just a couple of regulars and kids .
I was busy on my phone when I hear the front door open.
Y/n: welcome to cosmic comics
I said a nonchalant greeting to whoever had just walked in , not even looking up at them .
"Excuse me , I was looking for the anime comics " A deep voice said catching my attention, I looked up to see a attractive blonde boy
Y/n: Umm they're ove-
"Hey vin I found them , oh your here today" One of the customers that comes in often says noticing me
Y/n: Cooper hey I didn't see you come in
" you know her ?" The blonde guy asked cooper and he nodded enthusiastically
C: yeah bro she's the chick I was telling you has all the good Rec's
"Her?" The blonde looked me up and down confused
C: you liked my last one , y/n is the goat . This my friend vinnie hook him up with the good stuff
Y/n: ok , you looking for anime right ?
I said taking him to the section where we keep that stuff I talked with him about random things, his favorite genres and his favorite shows to see which ones I think he would actually like
Y/n: I recommend these two this one has 4 parts so if you like it just come back for the next one and I'll give it to you half off
V: thank you so much for helping, I think I'll like these
Y/n: no problem see you soon
I said while he and cooper walking out of the store
Vinnie's pov
C: soo?? Cooper said as we walked out the store
V: I don't know
C: what you mean ?? I see you whining in your room saying you're lonely and no one gets you and i literally found you the perfect girl and you say "I don't know "?
V: it's just she's different than what I expected
C: what ? You don't like black girls?
V: nooo it's not that , it's just when we came to the bookstore I was expecting someone more nerdy
C: y/n is hella nerdy bro she knows smart people shit like the types of rocks . I can say she a lil shy but she a baddie. She just don't know it yet
V: I just feel weird about it, how she just appears and is exactly what I'm looking for ?
C: that's not coincidence, I low key stalked her but that's for another day . Next time you see her get her number dude

The next week I went in there all dressed up but she wasn't at the counter just some stuck up looking guy
V: hey um I'm looking for a girl , like 5,5 and braids , nice smile ?
"You're looking for her ? The guy said pointing to her sitting with a group of kids reading them a story
I just watched her from a distance until she noticed me
Y/n: hey your that guy from the other day , cooper's friend
V: yeah I'm vinnie , I finished your books coop was right , you are the goat
Y/n: why thank you ,book matching is my specialty
V: I can tell , I came for the rest of the series and hopefully your number
She looked at me with a shocked expression, I could tell that I caught off guard
V: I'm sorry i didn't mean it like that , it's just that I
Y/n: did cooper send you ?
V: umm what ?
Y/n: cooper came in yesterday asking if I had a boyfriend and if I thought you were attractive. I told him you were cute and he gave me your number
V: wait you have my number, why didn't you reach out
Y/n: oh I don't think im your type
V: why not ? Your a beautiful woman
Y/n: yeah right , I feel you'd probably go for those ig model girls like the ones I see cooper with no offense , I just feel like I'm boring compared to them
V: no I'm highly offended, if you think you're boring but you're not , first off you work in this sick ass store and your caring you like listen to people just so you can pick out a book they'll like and you read to kid on the weekends , your a good person.
She blushed before looking away
Y/n: thank you vinnie , that's nice to hear from a stranger
V: would it be strange for me to ask you out ? Tonight maybe
Y/n: uh sure , I'll text you when I get off
She said handing me the books i wanted and walked me to the register
"See you found what you were looking for ?" The guy from before said as he saw us together
Y/n: Mind your business Rodney
R: I should tell mom your lack of focus when doing your job
Y/n: yeah and I let her know that baby you got on the way
I chucked at her as a he rung me up and reminded me she'll text me
I left with a huge smile on my face , she's something else
