Natalia POV

The banquet turned quiet as everyone tried to see what was taking all of our attention.
Leo and Alia immediately ordered everyone to get out and Ramona with the other knights guided everyone to the door. A lot of them were trying their best to peek as they were led out of the Manor.
I turned to see Danielle's troubled face as she tried to stimulate a response from Malin. She pushed Malin's shirt up and wiped her stomach with a wet cloth.
When I saw her stomach, I was shocked and heartbroken to see the amount of weight Malin lost in those couple of days we didn't see each other. The linings of her ribs were now visible and her stomach looked hollow.
"Maria!" I yelled and looked around looking for my aunt. I didn't let go of Malin's hand even though mine shook uncontrollably and instead tightened my grip.
Maria squeezed and rushed from the crowd who were being led by knights.
Maria stopped in her tracks when she saw Malin laying on the floor, pale with blood dripping from her nose.
She took a deep breath and started to handle the situation.
"We need to bring her to the infirmary." She said and ordered Danielle and Ramona to carry Malin.
Both of them immediately took hold of Malin. We exited the Manor from the back so no people were around to see her.
I didn't want to get in the way so I followed as closely as I can behind them.
I was so preoccupied with worry and panic as I kept my eyes on Malin's body as they carried her, I almost didn't feel Princess Alia's hand grab my hand for support.
More tears started to run down my face. I didn't know how much I cared about Malin until the moment I saw the light leave her eyes. I didn't know how much I wanted her with me until the moment I saw that I could lose her.
"Oh my god," I whimpered and covered my face with my hands.
"Hey, hey," I felt Alia grab my shoulders and she looked at me with determination, "She's going to be fine okay?" She said.
My bottom lip shook as I looked at her and then I nodded even though I knew she was only trying to comfort me. She had no way of knowing if Malin would be okay.
We headed to the infirmary following the others. When we arrived, Maria called for the doctor and they immediately put Malin on a bed and rushed to try to save her.
Danielle never took her concerned eyes away from Malin as they tried to bring her back.
The doctor asked for us to leave and give them space to work and then he closed the curtain, giving me a last glimpse of Malin's frail body before the curtain fully closed.
I didn't know if this will be the last time I see her.
Maria turned to me as Alia guided me to sit on one of the empty beds. Maria stayed standing and looked at me with pity. She didn't look surprised about what happened, it was like she somehow expected it.
