~Chapter 44~

I look up at the trees and grin, looking under a rock to see if I can find a small hole that me and Ingressus dug once when trying to escape a exercise game for school, hoping to dig ourselves out. We eventually gave up once they found us and dragged us back to play the game through. I look towards Ingressus as he smiles at me.

"So, why did we come here?" I ask and run my hand along the branches of a low tree. I glance over at him as he looks up at the trees as well.

"I just wanted to ask you something..." He says and I nod cheerfully.

"Yeah?" I ask before he leads me over to a tree near a cliff and sits down, I sit down beside him and watch the sun set peacefully over the mountains.

"I was wondering if you would..." He says and trails off.

"Yeah?" I ask and step towards him.

"Will you be..." He says then lowers his head and laughs a bit.

"I'm sorry, I'm nervous." He sighs and smiles a bit.

"Oh it's fine." I say and hug him. "Just ask me."

"Will you... be my..." He says then sighs a bit. "Will you be my mate?"

"Will I what?" I ask, my heart pounding.

"It's ok if you don't want to be," he says quickly. "I completely understand."

"Yes!" I squeal then hug him. "Of course, I'll be your mate!"

He smiles and I hug him tightly. He hugs me back and lets out a breath, happy. I lean into him more and he finally lets go of me. He cups my face in his hands and kisses me, I kiss him back and hold his arm as I relax slightly, he lets go of me. He rests his forehead against mine and I smile. He takes my hand and we start walking back. I lean into him and he hugs me as we walk back into the camp. Tygren looks up and Sonde looks up as well, she smiles weakly and Tygren goes back to rubbing her back, she closes her eyes and hunches over as he looks at her with concern.

"Are you ok?" Addy asks stepping closer to her. Sonde looks up at the female and smiles gently.

"Yes," She says as she adjusts. "Thank you for asking."

"Of course." She says and I walk towards her taking her hand, she leans up and kisses my chin then smiles as we walk back towards the tent, I walk in and sit down, lying down with a yawn. She lays on top of me and stares at me with her chin on my chest.

"Do you plan to sleep like this?" I ask dully, I can feel her chin digging into my ribs as she smiles.

"No." She says then moves her head to the side and moves her self up on me more, tucking her head in my neck. Her horns brush my chin and I stare at her before smiling and pulling the covers over us. I hug her close as she closes her eyes, letting her arm fall on mine. She snuggles closer to me and I wrap my arm around her, closing my eyes and falling asleep.
