PENELOPE WOKE UP to stirring in her bed. she knew very well what it—or who—it was.
crew had always been an affectionate child. as a baby, he slept better in her arms and loved skin to skin contact. and when he grew up, his preference didn't change. he loved cuddling and holding hands and being close to people.
though, after a bit of thought, crew being in here today was not exactly fine.
she peeked her eyes open and was greeted by theo's face. luckily, he was still asleep.
crew seemed unbothered by his father's presence—all cuddled up on top of the covers with his own star-covered blanket.
theo had been coming over significantly more. especially after they had renewed their old deal. even if he wasn't there when crew was awake, there was a high likelihood he came over after their son went to bed.
penelope was grateful the blankets covered them, so crew wasn't able to see that they were naked.
"mummy?"
"hi, love," she smiled at him.
"aren't you sleeping?"
"i can't just fall asleep right away, crew," she playfully rolled her eyes.
"how come daddy's here?" he absentmindedly asked, moving so his whole body was pressed into hers.
"we had a sleepover. we stayed up late, so we should stop talking and let him sleep," she very much wanted to stop talking about him.
"okay."

the next time penelope woke up, crew was gone.
theo also happened to be awake.
"morning," he rasped in that voice she just loved.
"good morning," she ran her fingers through his hair as he nuzzled her neck.
"crew decided he was going to clean his room."
"that just means i'll have to clean it later," she laughed.
theo hummed and surprised her by placing hot, opened-mouthed kisses on her neck.
"what are you doing?" penelope breathed out.
"enjoying my lady," he rolled his hips against her thigh, "is that wrong?"
"n-no."
he didn't bother answering her.
