Tony had done a good job hiding it, trying not to scare Peter, but Tony was PISSED. He was pissed because of what Mr. Moris did to Peter. He was pissed because Peter was being bullied. He was pissed because he knew what that felt like better than anyone, and knew how exactly how Peter felt. But more than anything, he was pissed at himself. He was so angry at himself for not noticing, for not DOING something. He had seen the bruises, he had heard the stuttering, he had seen how nervous and sad Peter was. He had seen it all but done nothing because he thought it was none of his business. He could have saved Peter from WEEKS of this shit. He had turned a blind eye, but he wasn't going to do that anymore. He wasn't going to let that brilliant kid suffer anymore than he already had. Tony turned around once more to see that Peter was back on the bench, sitting next to Deadpool. Tony was still abit confused as to how they knew eachother, but decided to leave it be for now seeing the smile on Peter's face as they talked. Tony picked up the pace and arrived at the door, knocking harshly. It took about two minutes, but eventually a man who Tony assumed to be Mr. Moris opened the door, looking tired and smelling of booze, but otherwise put together. Mr. Moris looked at Tony for a second before realization dawned on his face and he started speaking. "Tony Stark!? U-Ummm, Mr. Stark, sir? What are you doing here?" Mr. Moris was beyond confused as to why TONY STARK was at his orphanage, so much so that he failed to see the pissed look on Tony's face. Before Mr. Moris had any more time to ponder and freak out, he was being lifted up by his shirt collar and shoved harshly against a wall, knocking the air out of him. "M-Mr. Stark!? Wha-!" Tony didn't let him finish his sentence before slamming him into the wall again, harder this time. "What's this about?" Tony said as he slammed him into the wall a third time. "Why am I doing this?" Again. "What did you do wrong?" This time Tony let go and punched him in the face so hard he fell to the ground. "Is that what you were gonna say? Well, i'll tell you why I'm doing this. I'm doing this because you're an abusive piece of shit who i'm gonna make sure rots in jail for the rest of his life." Tony kicked him in the stomach and leaned down, a menacing tone in his voice. "You're never gonna see the light of day again, Mr. Moris." Tony then hit him again so hard that he was knocked out. Tony stood back up and stretched, feeling a little better. He got out his phone and called Happy. The ringing stopped and he heard Happy's voice on the line. "Tony? What's up?" Tony smiled, a scary smile. "Hey Happy, i've got some trash at North Catamount orphanage that needs cleaning up. Get the police here, a car for me, " He looked down at the pile of shit passed out on the ground. "Oh, and an ambulance." He then hung up before happy could question him further. Tony was confident that Mr. Moris wouldn't be waking up anytime soon, so he walked back over to Peter and Deadpool, who had been keeping Peter occupied so he wouldn't see the beatdown that took place. "Hey kid." Peter looked up, wiping away the tears in his eyes from laughing so hard. Peter couldn't remember the last time he had laughed like this, but somehow Deadpool had made him giggle like a sixthgrade girl. Once Peter had caught his breath, the bright smile never leaving his face, he responded "Hi, Mr. Stark.". Tony couldn't help but smile at the sight, Peter beaming with a face red from laughing so hard. The tears in his eyes not from sadness but from happiness instead. Tony was so glad to see Peter so happy. He shot Deadpool a greatful look, which was met with a confused one. Deadpool had just been telling some really shitty puns that Peter couldn't help but cackle at. "Alright kid, I... dealt... with Mr. Moris. The police are gonna be here soon and so is a car for me and you." Peter looked beyond extatic at that news, he was still scared, still nervous. 'What if the police believe Mr. Moris over me? What if he only gets a light sentence? What if Mr. Stark changes his mind and decided that I was lying about it all?' Peter couldn't help but think these things, but he was, for once, able to push them aside and relish in the fact that as of right now he no longer had to go back to Mr. Moris. But then another thing that Tony said registered in his mind. "A car for you and... m-me?" Peter asked in a quiet, confused voice. "Well yeah... I was just thinking, I mean, this place is gonna be under new management, so you could still stay here, but, I have plenty of space and money and, you already spend most of your time there anyway so, I was just thinking that maybe you'd want to stay at Stark Tower for a while? My boyfriend wouldn't mind and I think it would be a good idea if we could... keep an eye on you." Tony seemed really nervous as he said all that. Peter was quiet for a solid minute, only worsening Tony's nerves, before finally speaking up. "You... you really want me to stay with you? You'd r-really do that for... m-me?" Peter was perplexed, he was thankful and happy, but also confused. 'Why? Why would he want to take care of me? Why has he been spending this much time and effort trying to help me? Me? Useless, stupid, worthless me?' Peter couldn't understand why Mr. Stark had been so keen on helping him these past weeks. Tony could practically read the kid's mind, having had such thoughts when he was younger. Why do they want to help me. Am I really worth it. Are they just using me. Honestly, Tony still had these thoughts sometimes, but they had gotten better. "Look, kid. I know this whole thing is a lot, I know you don't really get why I'm helping you, but I really do just want to help. If you wanna stay here, you can. But if you wanna come to Stark Tower with me, I promise to help you in any and every way I can." Peter looked a bit less worried, but still not quite convinced. "Plus the Avengers are there, like, all the time." Tony added. Peter did a whole 180, his eyes brightened up and he lept to his feet. He still wasn't quite sure why Mr. Stark would do this all for him, but the fanboy in him would NOT let him pass up an opportunity to meet the Avengers. Tony laughed. "I take it your in then?" "Yes! O-of course i'm in!" Peter practially squealed. Just then some police cars and an ambulance pulled into the driveway, along with one of Tony's expensive cars driven by a very worried and exasperated Happy. Tony went over to the police and led them to where Mr. Moris was still laying, telling them what had happened and about all the stuff with Peter. Happy ran over to him looking a bit annoyed. Tony said something and pointed towards Peter. Happy came over and introduced himself. "Hello, my name is Happy. Mr. Stark told me to take you to Stark Tower because he's gonna be awhile dealing with the police, so please follow me into the car." Happy was a bit confused as Tony hadn't explained much about the situation, but Tony wasn't one to just randomly take kids in, so Happy assumed he had a good reason. Peter was a bit wary, but remebered some of the times when he and Mr. Stark had been working on something and he'd start talking about what a good friend Happy was and how much he trusted him, so Peter decided he didn't need to be so wary. He waved goodbye to Deadpool, who waved back as he was actively walking towards where Mr. Moris was about to be put on a stretcher. "wait!" he called as he jogged over and promptly kicked Mr. Moris in the stomach before running away, smiling and waving at Peter as one of the officers started chasing him. "Bye, Petey!" was the last thing he said before booking it out of there. Peter couldn't help the smile that spread across his face at that, he found it funny how one guy he had only met twice could make him smile more in an hour than he had in a year. Peter got into the back seat of the luxorious car and leaned his head on the headrest, exhausted from the day's events. "You know you don't deserve this, you know you're just a usesless, worthless, coward. You should just get out of the car and find a nice bridge to jump off of. Don't give up on that dream just because there's a couple people who feel sorry fo-" Peter hit his head on the headrest and opened his eyes, effectively silencing the voice. Peter knew that, but for once in his life he didn't think that these people were just sorry for him. For once he thought that people actually cared, and for once he wasn't going to let that voice convince him otherwise. Peter knew he didn't deserve all of this, these wonderfull people who were doing so much for him, but he wanted to work so that he could deserve it. He wanted to be a person that deserved all this love. So he blocked out the voice and let himself be driven to the place that might just become his home.
