"Link, you can't put off telling me forever," Zelda said, pulling the blankets over a sleeping Erick. She then straightened up and put her hands on her hips, "What's going on?" She asked, keeping her voice down. Link didn't glance up from the paperwork he had been putting off since he had received it. She raised an eyebrow for a moment before reaching over and grabbing his hat off the back of a chair and throwing it at him. He flinched, being brought out of his concentration,
"Woah!" Zelda put a finger to her lips. His eyes flashed over to his son before looking back at her questioningly, "Is there a reason you're assaulting me with headwear?" He teased, softer. She forced back a smile,
"What's happening in the desert?" She asked again. He sighed and ran a hand through his messy hair,
"I haven't got an update in awhile," he said, avoiding the question,
"I haven't got an update at all. I'm the Queen, I deserve to know too," she said. It could be nothing, but she didn't care. It was her kingdom too, and she wanted to know what was happening in it,
"Strange sightings. They're seeing shadows around Arbiter's Grounds, and a few soldiers have gone missing. I sent reinforcements, led by Kitri, a few weeks ago. I'm supposed to be hearing from them soon," He said, leaning forward and looking down at his hands,
"What are you going to do if it gets worse?" Zelda asked, walking towards him. He didn't answer for a moment,
"I'm going to go," he finally said, "I'll have to," Zelda looked down and nodded slightly before turning away,
"Well, let's hope for the best,"

"Now is the time to act. Go, now," Dayfos commanded. The man nodded and evaporated into the air, becoming a dark shadow, which zoomed out of the room at remarkable speed. It exited the grounds and flew up, far above the desert. It let out a screeching noise, far too high for Hylian hearing. It then dove downward towards the campsite. Many others swooped in beside it as it spiraled downward. It pulled up right before it hit the ground, and the fire blew out. The surprise on the Hylians faces was clear. It zoomed around, it's speed making a light whistle through the air. Their ears perked as they looked around. It swooped down and hit a bucket, which went flying. Several gasps and a girlish yelp rang out. It flew between several bodies, who all jumped back. The sound of blades being drawn propelled it forward. Let them try to cut it with their meek swords. It hit the side of a tent, which collapsed. A small girl ran out from another and gawked up at the sky. She mumbled a few words under her breath and bright light was shot towards it. It scattered. Another whisked behind her and knocked her down, while a different one went after the Captain. It went down and materialized in front of the group. They gasped, as it was the first time one of them showed more than a shadow to them,
"Who are you, and why are you doing this?!" The girl asked angrily, storming towards it. It merely looked at her through what appeared to be eyes. No part of it had any detail though. It was merely black in the shape of the man he had been. She tapped her foot impatiently. It felt several more land behind him and take form. It continued to gaze at the girl, who looked a bit more nervous.
Finally, it opened its mouth, but it's voice echoed from somewhere in the air,
"You are doomed." It said simply. With a laugh, it materialized into the air, and the others followed. They zoomed off and spread through the night, content with the mark they had left.

"Sir Link! Sir Link! I apologize for bothering you, but I must speak with you," Sarth's annoying voice said, breaking through his sleep. He cracked an eye open, looking up at him for a moment. It was still dark outside,
"Buzz off," he said, replacing what he would have normally said because of his son a few feet away,
"I am afraid this is important, Majesty," he insisted. Link groaned and stretched, giving in. He stood up slowly, scratching his arm,
"Fine, but we're getting breakfast on the way," he said sleepily. He grabbed his blanket and wrapped it around his shoulders, shuffling forward,
"You-you are bringing that?" Sarth asked with wide eyes,
"If you insist on talking to me at the crack of dawn, I'm going to be doing it in comfort. If you've got a problem with that, I'm going back to bed," he said, looking at him with small eyes. Sarth put his hands up,
"No, no, be my guest. The blanket is fine. Bring it if you wish,"
"I wasn't asking for permission," Link said, walking past him and out the door.
They stopped at the kitchen to get Link a muffin and some milk before walking to Sarth's office. Link sank into the comfy chair and started nibbling on it,
"The situation has turned dire. They need your assistance, Sir Link," he said, straight to the point. Link glanced up at him,
"Care to explain what has happened?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. Sarth entwined his fingers and leaned forward,
"There was an attack last night. They claim a swarm of the shadows tore up the camp before warning them of their impending doom," he said. Link blinked a few times,
"Wow," he then thought for a moment before sighing, "I guess I have no choice, then. I'll pack and leave for the desert today,"
