He stared down at his lunch, shifting it with his fork but not taking a bite, as he had done for the past few days. The thoughts in his head were so jumbled it was impossible to make sense of it. Information had been pounded into his head so much since he had awoken, and somehow he was supposed to just accept it all and continue his previous role, which was apparently a large one. He was having trouble even remembering what they called him, let alone the bigger things,
"Hey there." A voice poked through his thoughts with a chuckle. Glancing upward, he saw a young woman standing before him. Something was strangely familiar about her, but he didn't see how, because she looked different from anyone he had ever seen. She was tall, with red eyes and hair and her skin tone was odd. His brow furrowed slightly, "This taken?" She asked, pointing at the seat across from him. He nearly said yes, but the burning curiosity won out, and he shook his head. She laughed, "What a warm welcome."
"Sorry. I'm not feeling too sociable today." He muttered, shifting his food again,
"Hey, I get it. All of these prissy soldiers thinking that any little thing will suddenly give you a life-altering epiphany and the last twenty eight years will come flooding back like nothing happened." She said while digging into her food. He looked up at her for several seconds before she met his eyes and froze mid-chew, "What?"
"You seem to know what you're talking about. Did we..know each other?" She chuckled, waving him off, and he relaxed,
"I once knew someone a lot like you. You hero types aren't hard to figure out."
"You're not from here, right?" He asked, rather bluntly.
"Neither are you. The only difference between us is that I know where I came from." He chose to ignore that last part,
"Is this your first time...here?" He asked, already forgetting the name of where they were. He couldn't quite figure out why he was so interested in this strange woman, but she was so different from the rest of the company he had, and it was refreshing,
"Yes. I've been to Hyrule though. I actually spend months there several years ago dragging this brat around. I just now got around to making it back here." She said with a chuckle. "I thought maybe I'd pay a visit."
"You said he was a brat." He said, confused,
"Oh, he was. But hey, as annoying as he was, he grew on me." She shrugged. "I'm thinking about staying here for awhile, though. Hyrule's really gone downhill since I last saw it." She then looked down at his full plate and scoffed, "Come on. Don't be an idiot and eat your food. You won't get anywhere by starving yourself." He narrowed his eyes,
"You must have a lot of nerve to call a stranger an idiot. Especially one who's..apparently.. king." She giggled,
"Yeah, I'm super scared. Big tough king is going to get me for hurting his feelings." She then stood. "Well, I'm bored. See ya later!" She said with a giggle before turning to leave. He stood quickly,
"Wait!" She stopped and turned her head, "What's your name?" A grin spread across her face,
