The three dragons arrived at the dinner cave, with Tsunami standing tall. "Ha! I won!" she stated proudly as Phoenix and Clay arrived a bit later at the cave. Phoenix caught his breath, looking up at Tsunami. "No fair! You got a headstart!" he huffed, making his way to where the cows were. "Well maybe you're just too slow!" Tsunami sneered, making the Skywing glare at her playfully, but he immediately trotted to the last remaining cow and began to dig in. Tsunami stood next to him and began to eat the cow as well.
Clay watched his friends with a smile, going over to the cow and began to eat. "The only good thing about growing up here," he thought, taking a leg and biting it, "is my friends."
"RAHH!!" Clay jumped at the growl, frantically looking around to find the source only to later hear some giggling. Looking down at his right stood a tiny golden Sandwing, who was the source of the giggles. "Oh Sunny! You scared me!" Clay exhaled as he put a talon to his chest. Sunny examined the lizard she had on her talon before putting it in her mouth and swallowing it whole.
"Sorry, Clay! I was practicing my fierce battle cry! Did you like it?" The little Sandwing asked her friend with a bright smile. Clay nodded at his friend, then turned back to the cow. He ripped a chunk out of it and began to eat, moving around to sit down as to not take up too much space.
Sunny was what the guardians called an "odd looking Sandwing" due to her looks. She was a lot smaller than the usual Sandwing, making her look a lot younger than she actually was. Kestrel fumed about how her size was due to her not eating a lot, but Dune mentioned how it was normal for Sandwings to not require a lot of food. Sunny's scales were also "odd" since they were a yellow-golden color instead of the sandy yellow color, and the one feature that would make her stand out from other Sandwings are that she is missing the venomous tail barb on her tail.
Despite her being different from the other Sandwings, she was still happy as she was. And Clay considered her the sweetest dragon under the mountain, although the only slight downside was that she was terrible at keeping secrets.
The Nightwing, Starflight, was smart, mainly because he really liked to study all the time. He does not like to fight and prefers to talk things out, although this doesn't end the way he expects it to. At night, Starflight can blend in with ease thanks to his scattered silver scales under his wings that look like stars. He can read minds and foretell the future, which the rest of the dragonets are careful of.
Tsunami can and will fight anything with ease, as she is the toughest of the dragonets. As a Seawing, she can see very well in the dark as well as being able to breathe underwater. She also has bioluminescent scales, which she can make glow at will. She has quite a lot of fantasies of being a Seawing princess and that she is destined to become queen of the Seawings. Tsunami was already pretty good at bossing the rest around, having practiced and all.
Glory is what Kestrel refers to as a "stupid and lazy rainwing", but Glory is neither of those things. She is smart and, according to what Clay says about her, beautiful. She is sarcastic most of the time, so the rest of the dragonets had to adapt to her sarcasm to tell when she is sarcastic. As a Rainwing, her scales can shift into many gorgeous colors, some of which reflect her mood. Other than that, she is secretly nice. Even if the prophecy did not call for a Rainwing, the dragonets still see her as one of them.
Phoenix is called an "odd Skywing" by Kestrel, who claims he's a Seawing hybrid due to his scales being blue instead of red, orange, or gold like the usual Skywing. Nevertheless, he was kept with the dragonets because he was all they had for the wings of sky since the Sky kingdom hatcheries were closely guarded after Hvitur took the original egg. Phoenix gets along well with the other dragonets, and even defends them when the guardians (ie. Kestrel) go too far.
