Tsunami dived into the water following Whirlpool who paused at some point and turned to Tsunami, flashing his scales in a certain pattern. He then paused after a few flashes, looking at Tsunami as if waiting for something. The female then realized and proceeded to flash her scales in the same pattern as Whirlpool, prompting him to continue on.

This went on for a while, all while Tsunami wished she could slash that smirk off his face. Eventually it finally ended and the two resurfaced, while Tsunami remained confused as she didn't really learn what the flashes meant. "Excellent!" the kelp Seawing exclaimed, further confusing Tsunami. "What's excellent?" "We recited the first chapter of the Queen's first work, "The Tragedy of Orca"." The response frustrated the blue dragon slightly. "I didn't learn anything." she responded, but Whirlpool seemed to be too high up in his cloud. "With repetition comes perfection." he simply stated, further frustrating Tsunami. "Shall we continue?" "No!"

Whirlpool was taken back slightly at Tsunami's sudden reaction. "Teach me something I can actually use! How do you greet strangers? Or even warn them of danger?" she hissed, almost pleading for an actual lesson. "For moon's sake, atleast show me how to say "I don't speak Aquatic."!" the male only raised a brow. "All knowledge can be found in the Queen's writing, of course." Tsunami groaned and swam away from him. "I'm getting out of here." She then dived down underwater, heading out through the tunnel and onto a small rocky island. She flew towards one of the openings.

As she walked further in, she felt like someone was watching her. Looking back she saw it was just Riptide, who tried (and failed) to hide from her. Tsunami smirked and went over to him, peeking from the entrance to see the male clinging onto the surface. "You are the worst at hiding, you know? Definitely never gonna be a spy." she teased and he scoffed lightly. "I would make a splendid spy." "Yeah yeah." Tsunami then walked back into the cave.

"Aren't you supposed to be patrolling the outer islands?" she asked, and Riptide nodded. "Perhaps, but as you can imagine, I don't have a very important job. Her majesty would never trust me with anything vital." "Well, you do seem like a shady character." Tsunami stated with amusement, then gestured with a talon for him to enter the cave. "Come on in." "Oh- uh, sure!" Riptide quickly entered, standing next to her. "So... about Webs... he's your father.." Tsunami stated, although it was obvious. Riptide sighed and tucked his wings in on himself. "He is, but it's not usually something I include when introducing myself as it could make others see me in a completely different way.. I would have thought of telling you before the Nightwing did..." he glanced up at her again, his ears drooping. "I was hoping to know more about Webs.."

Tsunami turned to him with a slight smile. "Is that why you've been following me?" "That... and I was worried about you.." Riptide responded, then a smile began growing on his face. "There aren't a lot of outspoken dragons in the Kingdom of the Sea." Tsunami smugly smiled at that. "I can say whatever I want. I'm the missing princess, after all." she stated, then huffed slightly. "Mother loves me so much, she will have a harness on me by the end of the day if I'm not careful." Tsunami mumbled, earning a snort from Riptide. "I'd like to see any dragon try to put a harness on you!" "Then they will find out how "outspoken" I really am!" she laughed proudly, holding her wings up. Her right wing lightly grazed against Riptide's left wing, making both pull their wings away.

"Webs... wasn't so bad." she began, speaking what she thought about the Seawing who stole her egg. "He wasn't as bad as Dune or... Kestrel, but not as good as Asha or Hvitur. I think he was trying to be kind. It honestly would have been worse without him ever since Asha and Hvitur left and never returned.." "It's okay. You can tell me the truth. I want to hear the bad stuff, too." Riptide said honestly, wanting to hear what Tsunami really thought about his father. She continued on. "If he was the only one left who cared enough about us, he should have fought for us. He never did, not until the end." Tsunami finished, noticing Webs's solemn expression. "Weak and cowardly... that's how he was always described to me."

He shamefully lowered his head, which hurt Tsunami in a way. Wanting to comfort him, she put a talon on his wing. "That does not mean you're anything like him. It is not fair to punish you for what he did." Riptide smiled slightly, feeling the comfort from her. Tsunami knew this was improper for a future Seawing queen, but she did not care. She wanted to make her own choices. "So, um..." Riptide started a new conversation. "What's life like for new royalty?" "Oh, boy.." Tsunami cringed at the memory of the Aquatic lesson she had. "I just got the worst Aquatic lesson from Whirlpool." "Oh, Whirlpool.." Riptide cringed, already imagining what the mentioned Seawing was like in the lesson. "Queen Coral's favorite instrument of torture."

"Would you like a real Aquatic lesson?" he suggested, in which Tsunami immediately nodded with a grin. "Would I? I demand one!" "Hah, alright." Riptide laughed, then lifted his tail so that his bioluminescent scales on it were shown. "Here's what you say to Whirlpool the next time you see him." he then flashed some of the scales in a certain way, in which Tsunami copied while curiously looking back at her own tail. "Uhhh.. what did I just call him?" "'Squid-brain'. My new favorite insult thanks to you." Riptide replied with a chuckle, then cleared his throat to continue.

"This is 'why'" why

"'How'" how

"'When'" when

The lesson went on for a while, and Tsunami was catching on well.

"But what you'll really need to know is this." Riptide then flashed more scales, which Tsunami of course copied. "What does that mean?" she asked. "'I will protect you'." "I don't need protecting." Tsunami replied, finding herself smiling at the male who was also smiling. "I know, but you will probably need to say it to someone else someday." Tsunami felt warm as he said it.

She then remembered something and held up a talon. "Oh, by the way.. what does this mean?" she did the twisting motion with a finger like Shark did outside the Summer Palace. "That? 'Not right now, we'll finish later'." a horrible realization came across Tsunami at his translation. "A-are you sure!?" Riptide nodded. "Why? Who-" "SHARK!! To his guards when Gill- my father stopped him from killing my friends! Did that mean 'we'll just kill them later'!?" Riptide seemed worried now, seeing Tsunami's distress for her friends. "Maybe, but if Queen Coral hasn't then-"

Tsunami took off before he could finish, flying off into the now heavily pouring rain. "I have to get back!!" she yelled, barely hearing Riptide yelling at her to be careful as she then plunged into the ocean and swam through the tunnel, only to have something covering her vision.
