ALICE STEP SISTER

The Alpha was already advanced in age; however, it didn't show in his graceful and dignified posture. His lavish and gorgeous clothes resembled his status perfectly as a king, Alpha Magnus Valdez.

Beside him, Luna, Amaya Valdez, stood wearing a phoenix dress, which was designed to symbolize her as the mother of the pack and queen of this kingdom. Her face was already showing some lines suggesting her old age, but she still exuded the aura of a refined and elegant woman.

Everyone started to greet the Alpha and the mother of the pack. Afterwards, they continued as they were before, but the way they conducted themselves was much more refined.

Alice Marasigan didn't really stand out from the crowd. She eyed the one seated on the throne, within her, was a deep calm concealed the words.

"That day will come when I will force the Alpha to leave that throne." This was one of her vows to her family.

"Alice, let me introduce you to my other friends." Amihan Mendrez continued to drag her around. Alice decided to play along, as she did not feel any hint of hostility from Amihan Mendrez. Although she had hidden motives, at the very least, she proved to be quite true to herself.

After another round of seemingly endless greetings and exchanges of pleasantries with the young members of the pack families, Amihan Mendrez finally let Alice go and took a rest.

Alice wanted to cry and say, "Leave me alone," to her step-sister. But she knew this was not the time. As she stood, she walked to Lea and whispered.

"Lea, I have to pee, just tell her."

Lea nodded, she knew that Alice felt bored with her, and Alice hated to be socializing with other noble families of the pack. As soon as Alice disappeared from Amihan's sight. She bumps on a young man who first catches her eyes.
The young man frowned

"Did we meet before?"

"Yes, I mean no " Alice immediately stop

That young man chuckled, but for Alice he was so cute. Alice smelled the usual shifter on him, he was a human-wolf. Then the young man looked at her from toe up to her head, Alice didn't like his attitude then he said

"Based on your looks, you are a princess. right?"

"Yes"

"Where are you going anyway?" the young man ask. Alice frowns, she doesn't like strangers asking anything to her, without knowing the full intentions.

"It's none of your business" Alice told him with a little irate. Then she turn going back to the hall.

"Hey,"

The young man calls out, Alice hears him but she is about being discouraged. He can't do anything about it.

Alice Marasigan and Amihan Mendrez sat together, and then Amihan started talking to her about various happenings within the capital, from social gossip to academic lessons at school.

"Alice, why don't you attend school? Normally, we girls will have to go there when we reach thirteen to broaden our knowledge about womanly matters."

There was indeed an academy for girls where they would learn about etiquette, music, painting, literature, and languages. They would study for six years as preparation before looking for their mate and getting married.

Alice Marasigan blanked a little when she heard about the academy. She had never had a chance to learn at least three of them. If she decided to join in, she would surely become a laughing stock. She only says

"I don't know..."

Amihan Mendrez sighed.

"Really, if only dad didn't force you out of our family, you will definitely learn a lot about those things with us."

Alice partially agreed with that thought. Because of her, it would be a miracle if she could stay safely with the Mendrez family. However, Amihan Mendrez indeed had another point.

With the Marasigan family, Alice could barely learn things about women. The family was a family of general soldiers, and most women died young, so there was practically no one left who could teach Alice Marasigan other girl things.

The young girl's eyes flashed with interest. It seemed she had found something she could use for now.
Currently, the relationship between the Marasigan family and the Mendrez family could be considered irreconcilable, and Alice's father didn't seem to have any intention to change it. Alice Marasigan initially didn't want to have anything to do with them either. However, she had thought of some things that the Mendrez family could help her with.

Amihan Mendrez's eyes widened slightly. Upon hearing what Alice Marasigan said

"Your father'" and not just "father"
Amihan understood that Alice didn't want to acknowledge Aldrex, as her own father too. Considering what she had gone through all these years.

"Well, you can also join us, you are part of Mendrez family side. I'm sure that they wouldn't hinder you."

Alice nodded and said
"I will talk about it to my grandfather later."

Amihan Mendrez's face beamed, and she continued to talk with Alice Marasigan for a good long time until the second daughter of the Mendrez family, Alyssa, came over and blurted out, "Sis, why are you talking with this waste?"

Alyssa Mendrez looked at Alice Marasigan with ridicule. She was the daughter of Fiona Mendrez, a spoiled girl and only six months younger, than Alice Marasigan. Her face was strikingly appealing; however, her unpleasant attitude made her quite annoying in some people's eyes.

Amihan's face changed.

"She's our sister too, so I think it will be better to introduce her to my friends as well."

"What is the use of introducing her?" Alyssa ridiculed Alice Marasigan once more. But then she remembered Janus Marasigan, the adoptive brother of Alice, so she didn't lash out at her further. She was actually envious of Janus Marasigan, the perfect brother of the Mendrez family. Compared to Jake Mendrez, her brother seemed lacking. Jake Mendrez is one of the general soldiers of the pack, but he was nothing compared to many other intelligent men in the city. As a result, he could only work tirelessly every day.

Alyssa scoffed for a while before leaving with a few other girls who followed after her.

Aldrex Marasigan, Alice's father, was the Prime Minister of the Pack, so it was expected that a lot of people would want to get close with his sons and daughters. The easy targets were obviously Alyssa Mendrez and Jake Mendrez, as they were the main wife's children.

"Don't mind her; she's just a little airhead."

In Alice's eyes, "airhead" was an incorrect description of Alyssa. It would be more accurate to say that she doesn't have any brains at all. Alice Marasigan smiled and said, "I don't mind it, Sister Amihan Mendrez."

Seeing Alice smile, Amihan Mendrez felt relieved. But somehow, she also felt that something was amiss with the girl's smile. She just couldn't figure out what it was.

The party didn't last much longer. Alice, seeing that her grandfather was also not very capable of socializing with people, didn't want to stay at the party for a long time and bid farewell to her stepsister, Amihan Mendrez.

"Sister Amihan, it's time for me to go," said Alice.

"Right, see you at the next chance, Sister Alice," Amihan replied.

With that, the two girls parted ways. Alice Marasigan and her assistant Lea hurriedly followed out.

Alice smiled and said, "Lea, what do you think if I become part of the Mendrez family?"

Lea's face changed.

"Princess, why would you want to be a part of the Mendrez family? They are all a bunch of useless people in these packs."

"That may not be necessarily true. These people have their own uses."

Alice Marasigan climbed inside her carriage and headed home. Her mind began to plan, that her step sisters might be helpful for her attacks.
