Alpha Aziel

PROLOGUE

TEN years old Aziel entered the hospital with his mother. Hawak ni Aaliyah si Azeil habang naglalakad sila sa hallway ng hospital. Aziel was looking around. It was his first time to enter a hospital. Werewolves don't get sick so he wasn't admitted to any hospitals before.

"Mama, what are we doing here?" tanong ni Aziel sa ina.

"We're going to visit my daughter's friend. She was admitted in this hospital."

"Oh." Aziel reacted.

Tumigil sila sa tapat ng isang pinto. Kumatok si Aaliyah bago niya itinulak ang pinto pabukas.

"Aaliyah, you're here." Saad ng isang babae na nasa loob ng room.

Aaliyah walked towards the woman and embrace her like she was comforting her.

Nagtaka si Aziel. Her mother has never been close to anyone.

Then the woman shifted her gaze to Aziel. "Your son?" she asked Aaliyah.

Tumango si Aaliyah. "Yeah. Aziel come here."

Agad namang lumapit si Aziel sa ina.

"This is your Auntie Mavielyn. And that's her daughter Mia."

Napunta agad ang atensiyon ni Aziel sa batang nakahiga sa hospital bed. She's probably five years old. Kusang gumalaw ang paa ni Aziel at naglakad patungo sa batang babae.

"What happened to her?" he asked while staring at the young girl's face. The young girl's face was pale. She's sick.

"She's sick but she's recovering now." Mavielyn answered.

Nakahinga naman ng maluwang si Aaliyah. "I'm glad she's okay now. Nag-alala ako sa kaniya."

Ngumiti si Mavielyn. "Ako dapat ang mag-alala. Ilang beses na lang kitang nakikita sa loob ng isang taon. Is your husband treating you good?"

"Of course."

The two women are engulfed talking with each other. Hindi nila napansin na nagising na ang anak ni Mavielyn at ngayon si Aziel na ang nakikipag-usap rito.

"Sino ka?" tanong ng batang babae kay Aziel.

"I'm Aziel." Ngumiti si Aziel. Umangat ang kamay niya saka hinaplos ang buhok ng batang babae. "Nice to meet you, Mia. Why are you in the hospital?"

"Sabi ni mommy dito raw ako gagaling." Tugon ni Mia. "I was sick."

Sinalat ni Aziel ang nuo ni Mia. "You're not sick," he said.

Kahit bata pa si Aziel, nararamdaman niya ang koneksiyon niya kay Mia. Hindi niya lang alam kung anong koneksiyon pero talagang malakas ang kung anumang humahatak sa kaniya patungo kay Mia.

Tinanggal ni Aziel ang suot na kwintas saka ito isinuot kay Mia. "From now on, we will be friends."

Ngumiti si Mia. "Salamat, Kuya."

Aziel smiled. Though Mia is a human but she's adorable and cute. He's now fond of her.

"Aziel, let's go."

Tumingin si Aziel sa ina. "Can't we stay a little longer, Mommy?"

"I'm sorry, anak. Pero kailangan na tayo ngayon ng Daddy mo."

Aziel pouted. Nagpaalam na ito kay Mia. "I promised, I will come back."

Tumango si Mia.

What Aziel's promised, Mia keeps that in her mind. She waits for Aziel's comeback but he never came did. Napapahawak na lang siya sa kwintas na ibinigay nito. She missed him but until she was discharged, Aziel didn't really came back.
