The man in front of me revealed a small smile.
"It is polite to call a woman Lady." he explained.
"That makes sense. Kind of like 'sir' or 'ma'am'." I thought out loud.
"Lady Angela, this is Heimdall, the guardian of the Rainbow Bridge. He knows everyone who leaves and enters Asgard." Thor introduced.
"Good job. Does it pay well?" I asked.
"The honor is payment enough," Heimdall said, then leaned in. "But mug of ale every now and then would be nice."
My face burst into a huge grin. Maybe everyone was like this.
"I'll see what I can do." I said, meaning it.
Thor led me and Loki out of the Bifrost, the bridge was breathtakingly beautiful. Now I know why it was called the Rainbow Bridge. The colors shined and sparkled, bright enough to light up Times Square on New Years. Okay, I might be exaggerating a little, but this is one of the greatest things I've ever seen.
The sudden sound of hooves made its way to my ears, causing me to look up from the bridge. Six horses approached us, four of them had riders on their backs.
Was this the welcoming party?
Thor looked happy and excited while Loki looked nervous and almost annoyed. That gave me mixed feelings about who was coming.
A woman with long black hair tied back into a ponytail, a big man with a red beard and matching hair, a handsome man with blonde hair, beard and mustache, and an Asian man with black hair tied up all approached. They dismounted their horses when they got close enough.
"Friends! It is good to see you together." Thor greeted, going to embrace all of his friends that were in armor similar to Loki and Thor's. They all had their own colors too.
Cute yet odd.
After they all got friendly again and slapped each other's backs, Thor turned back to Loki and I.
"Friends, my brother and I have returned with our friend from Midgard. Lady Angela Pierce, daughter of Bruce Banner." Thor introduced, reminding me of how they did in the movies when someone important entered a room or descended a staircase at an important ball.
The red-haired man was the first to approach me.
"Lady Pierce, I am Volstagg the Valiant. It is wonderful to meet you." he greeted me, but instead of a handshake he picked me up in a huge hug, almost crushing me in the process.
I giggled and hugged him back as best I could before he put me down.
"Likewise, but please call me Angela or Angie. No Lady in my name." I said.
"Very well, Angela."
Next the black-haired man walked up to me, settling for a handshake.
"This is Hogun the Grim. He doesn't talk much." Volstagg said.
"Nice to meet you." I smiled.
All he did was nod his head once before stepping away. The blonde took his place fairly quickly. He took my hand, bowed deeply and kissed my knuckles. He must be the charmer of the group.
"Fandral the Dashing. It is a pleasure to meet you," he looked up at me through his eyelashes. "I was not aware that Midgardians are so beautiful. You should come by my room so we could chat." He kissed my knuckles again, keeping eye contact.
I had a feeling he didn't want to actually talk. Good thing Dad didn't come with me, but I could feel the irritation pouring out of Loki. I decided to mess with Fandral so he got the picture.
