Mazuhashi blinked, his eyes darting from Shinano to the unfamiliar surroundings. "Shinano.... Where the hell am I?" he asked, perplexed, as he found her sitting on the stairs of the shrine.
A mischievous grin curved Shinano's lips. "Oh? You don't know? I could've sworn you've visited this place countless times in your life, haven't you?" she replied, teasingly.
Mazuhashi's brows furrowed in confusion as he surveyed the area. "What? Why do I feel this overwhelming sense of nostalgia?" he pondered, his thoughts racing.
The voice in Mazuhashi's head interrupted his musings, startling him. "That's because you've been here multiple times, from the tender age of 7 until you turned 15," it whispered.
Startled, Mazuhashi's eyes widened as he turned to Shinano. "Wait a minute... Can you read minds?!" he blurted out, unable to contain his astonishment.
"Yes and No, Shikikan. I can read minds, I just need to wrap my tails to someone's head in order to read their minds, it can be more smooth and clear if they are asleep." Shinano explained while Mazuhashi just looked at her in utter disbelief
"Alright, I never thought you were this dangerous." Mazuhashi said
"What part of me is dangerous, Shikikan?" Shinano asked
"Well, the mind reading part is already messed up. And I may be complimenting this but your tails are so soft it made my existing fatigue and my body gave up on me." (Mazuhashi)
"Are you not going to say about my magic? It has an "Area of Effect"." (Shinano)
"Yeah no shit about that AoE passive skill of yours. It's dangerously effective." (Mazuhashi)
Shinano just sweetly chuckle
Mazuhashi then stands up and walks towards a nearby torii gate
"Let's see... "Hie Shrine".... Wait a fucking minute isn't this where the two big hit animes were? "Miyamizu Shrine" yeah that's it." (Mazuhashi)
"But wait..." Maz then pondered "If this is Hie shrine, then that means I'm in..."
"Your hometown, Shikikan-sama. Takayama." Shinano said until she snapped her finger
Now both are teleported in front of what looks like a school
"Oh shit. It's Takayamanishi high school." Maz then walks past the entrance gate and looks to his left (Full name is "Gakko Hojin Hidagakuen Takayamanishi High School")
"If I read your mind. You and your friends hated this place." Shinano said
"Yes, we don't like this place because the Junior High schoolers are giving this school a bad name. But I don't argue with that because I too was the same as them. Then again, I actually loved this place because of the memories I made here. But in recent years it's starting to gain popularity because of the match we did years ago." Mazuhashi explained to her
"Let me say, Wrestling.... Martial Arts.... Tennis...." (Shinano)
"I did the Martial Arts one. I am the one who carried the whole school to victory because I reached the nationals. Yassuko did tennis. And Mitsubuto did the wrestling. The rest are like Science and Computer competitions and Hidetada did the Archery tournament."
"Let's just say, me and the gang carried our school to glory." (Mazuhashi)
"Yes..." (Shinano)
"Wait a minute, now I have something in mind. If you can read minds and you randomly appear in my office, doesn't it mean this is not your first time to read my mind without knowing?" Maz asked
