Chapter XIV

My biggest fear has come. There's no going back to the life that I have always wanted. I can always run away just like I always do but not now, I don't want my brother to take all the burden. We only got each other now so leaving him should never be an option for me. It's like my life has it's biggest turn in just a snap of an eye. I'm not expecting this at all.

I have so many plans. I have so many things that I still want to do.

I watch different famous personalities as they drop flowers in my mother's coffin. Parang mas malungkot pa sila kaysa sa akin. I don't know if I feel so empty because my mother is now gone and we didn't even have the closure we need before she go or maybe because of the responsibilities she left for us. I kind of feel bad that I almost feel nothing, wala na talaga akong magulang. My mother and father is now gone. Though matagal naman na akong walang family support na nakukuha from my mom since tinakwil niya ako and I learned how to live by my own but it feels different now that they are gone to this world forever.

Months passed by so quickly and I finally recovered from the accident. My hair is now on shoulder length and I can walk straight without using crutches anymore. I'm ready to get back to reality. I will be handling three out of our nine company branches around the world then Kuya will be in charge on the rest. Wala akong idea sa kung ano mang gagawin ko pero bahala na. I can fake it 'til I make it naman and also I can always ask questions. Tama, I will be just fine.

I was combing my hair while admiring myself in front of the mirror. I'm now wearing an all pink corporate attire. I can't help but smile at the sight. Ang ganda ko talaga. And the old Dulce is back! Iyon nga lang hindi sa dati kong buhay. I took a deep sighed and put down the comb. 

Sakto naman n'on ay ang pagbukas ng pinto nang wala man lang katok. 

"Can't you knock?" I asked Carter. Lagi na lang siyang gan'yan, hindi na nagbago! He lean on the door frame while crossing his arms, watching me do my make up.

He's wearing his usual corporate outfit, a black button up shirt paired with a black slacks. He's also wearing his silver rolex watch which I find so attractive. Gosh, this guy. I can smell his manly perfume from here. Kahit ilang beses ko na siyang nakikita, his effect stays the same. I hate it.

"Why would I knock? This is my house." I just rolled my eyes at him and continue blending my cheek blush using my pink brush, nagkukunwaring wala lang sa akin ang presensiya niya. 

Mabilis ko na tinapos ang ginagawa ko dahil naiilang ako sa pagtitig niya sa akin. Last touch is my strawberry scented perfume and now I'm ready. "I'm done." I said and grab my pink Dior bag. "Oh, before I forgot," May nilabas ako na box mula sa bag ko and handed it to him.

"Open it." I said excitedly and that's what he did. It revealed a simple baby pink neck tie. I watch his expression to tell if he like it or not but I can't seem to read what on his mind. Napanguso ako. Baka hindi niya nagustuhan dahil sa color. 

"You don't like it?" He's just staring at it. Sabi ko na nga dapat pumili ako ng neutral colors. Moments after he remove it from the box and handed it back to me.

"Can you put it on me?" I can't help but feel kilig when he said that. I happily obliged. Naka-heeled shoes na ako but I have to tip toe a bit dahil sa tangkad niya. I carefully put the necktie on the collar of his shirt. I can smell his manly perfume and ito na naman 'yong feeling na nakakalasing, sinabayan pa ng malakas na tibok ng puso ko.

He's so tall that I have to look up a bit to see his face. Agad kong pinagsisihan 'yon kasi nagtama ang mga tingin namin at tumriple yata ang tibok ng puso ko dahil do'n. Gosh! Those eyes still have the same effect on me. Walang nagbago. Feeling ko sa sobrang bilis at lakas ng heartbeat ko ay maririnig na niya 'yon. My hands trembled a bit na mukhang nahalata niya yata kasi I notice a small smirk from him.
