Shiro was standing in the kitchen and had just finished sorting out all the food from the refrigerator that was well past its best-before date. Everything was still quiet and still in the liar.
Carefully, she peeked into the Tupperware with the 'DO NOT TOUCH!" post-it on it and spotted a piece of cake. Her stomach growled even louder, but she knew it was Raph's, and closed the lid again, sighing as she turned to the fruit bowl, now sorting out the shriveled apples and black bananas from it.
She smiled at this ordinariness and finally felt safe and secure again.
"I'm home." she whispered softly, feeling happy.

Usagi moved silently through the corridors of the old train station, tensed to the utmost, completely concentrated. His right hand was on his sword hilt, and the crystal glowed brighter and brighter the closer he came to the demoness. Now the blackness was like a trickle inside, thinly pulling its strings.
Quietly he set his steps, careful not to make a sound, his breathing calm and steady even as his heart beat fast. This was the opportunity to slayer this creature, and he would not get a second try once he faced it. All the turtles were asleep and whatever their relationship to her, they would not be able to help her now, not be able to stop him.
Usagi swallowed. He knew that the connection between the four brothers and the demoness was friendly and that the turtles, in their endless naivety and hospitality, had probably offered her shelter as well, just as they had with him. They obviously had no idea what misfortune they were causing and even if their intentions were the best, the consequence was the destruction of everything. The rabbit smiled bitterly in the face of this irony of fate and hoped that Leo would understand when he had explained everything to him.
The crystal was glowing brightly, illuminating the blue hoodie he had gotten from Leo as he got closer to the kitchen. Usagi wondered what the beast looked like, what shape it had. The pictures of the Krang that Leo had shown him came to his mind. Crazy eyes, high intellect and pure mercilessness – yes, that would also apply to her. He turned around the corner and saw the light coming from the open kitchen door into the hallway, soft sounds coming out of it. She was in there! He hardly dared to breathe as he took up position next to the door and listened intently. In the kitchen he heard the clatter of dishes, the sound of a drawer being opened and closed, but nothing that told him how big the demoness was, how many extremities she possessed, or whether she was armed.
Just this one try, just this one chance. He knew he was fast, faster than all his friends, faster than his sensei. This ambush had to take her down, his strike had to be directly deadly, so she would not have the chance to drag him down with her powerful Ninpo. The crystal and its power will help him drill his sword into her head, she had to die before she even realized she was under attack. Only that would ensure his survival, nothing else. His grip on the sword hilt tightened, all his muscles tensed, his thoughts focused.
Usagi ducked barely noticeably, ready to leap. He bared his teeth.
"Well, you shy one? You can come in." a friendly voice sounded.
Usagi froze.
His eyes widened in pure shock. SHE HAD NOTICED HIM! NO!
Quiet laughter rang out.
"Come in. I won't bite. Are you hungry?"
Usagi's mouth dropped open and, in complete perplexity, he peered into the kitchen.
There she stood. The demoness.
A human.
A young woman, thin built, in an oversized purple t-shirt with white long wild hair, had her back turned to him and was cutting fruits into a bowl.
