"She saw something in the crystal of Usagi - she wouldn't answer me what it was. But it shook her deeply and made her certain at the same time." Draxum reported, now standing in the projector room where Leo's portal had just brought him - surrounded by four brothers, on whose faces all possible variations of emotions could be read. Anger, despair, fear, sadness.
"And why wouldn't she tell you?!" exclaimed Donnie, upset, "She trusts you! YOU are the being she is most likely to ask for help from - and we all know that Shiro actually NEVER asks for help!"
Draxum avoided the stares, looked at the ground, swallowed hard.
"Draaaaaxum?" asked Leo quietly, a suspicion coming to him - what had this Baron done to make Shiro turn her back on him?
"I had...," he began with a huff, "I had kept important information from her that directly concerned her."
An anxious silence fell - then Mikey's whisper
"What have you done, Dad?"
Draxum turned to the youngest angrily
"I wanted to protect her! Not to worry her! I didn't want to lose her!"
Raph closed his eyes in despair and clenched his fists
"And now that's exactly what's happening! Just like it happened to her with us!" he growled
Draxum raised his eyebrows questioningly
"What do you mean?"
"Raph and I stopped her from taking revenge." replied Leo in a heavy voice, "if we hadn't, the people who helped her would still be alive. She blames herself for that... because she listened to us - trusted us."
"And I had assured her that she is the pure good," Mikey said, glancing at the wound on Leo's neck and trying to hold back his tears.
"And you patronized her! Mistook her for weak and immature!" hissed Donnie, glaring at Draxum and then turning to his brothers, "Looks like you all made her listen to YOU - and you yourselves didn't even listen to HER for a second! You did not trust her the way she trusted you! And now you have lost her ALL! And completely RIGHTLY so!"
At that moment, Donnie felt the Orb pulsing brightly, he tried to catch it, to hold it - but it was like translucent and not to be grasped! He gasped for air, clutching his chest. Leo's eyes widened, both staggered briefly, having to catch themselves.
Raph and Mikey were immediately with them, supporting them, holding them. Then Draxum noticed the bound Usagi and an unknown female mutant leaning against the wall behind. Surprised, he looked at the two prisoners, both were not insignificantly injured.
"What is the meaning of this?!!" he shouted, looking at Donnie.
And Draxum couldn't believe his eyes when the turtle lifted his gaze to him, and he could see a darkness spread within them. The Baron drew in his breath sharply.
"You mean the traitor, Yuichi Usagi?" whispered Donnie, shaking off Mikey's hand, "Don't have to worry about it, because I'll take care of him once and for all now."
His Bo manifested in Donnie's hand - there was no way that damn mutant was going to block it. Something pulled him into the depths, a darkness - full of hatred and mercilessness - that made all his senses cold and still, accompanied by a seemingly endless rage.
Where she goes, I go.
Frightened voices rang out around him, the rabbit's eyes widened in fear. The mutant's cry of "But you gave us your word -" faded to nothing.
And Donnie lunged forward.
—
Usagi saw Donnie leaping toward him, teeth bared, eyes full of hatred behind which lurked madness. Instinctively, he jerked his tied hands up to his head, pulled his legs to his chest.
A vibration went through the ground, next to him, he heard Mona gasp and braced himself for the Bo's painful impact.
CLINK
Usagi raised his head in surprise. The Bo had been stopped just inches above him.
By a blue glowing sword!
"Leo!" whispered Usagi breathlessly.
"LEO!" growled Donnie full of suppressed rage, "I'm only going to say this once: get out of my way!"
"I just can't!" cried Leo in exasperation.
Raph and Mikey reached Donnie, grabbed him by the arms, tried to hold him back - but he was filled with an unnatural strength.
"AND WHY NOT!!!" screamed Donnie at his twin.
"BECAUSE I LOVE HIM!" screamed Leo back, his voice cracking.
Usagi closed his eyes, grimacing, the tears quickly finding their way to him.
"AND WHAT ABOUT SHIRO? DO YOU LOVE THAT LIAR AND TRAITOR MORE THAN HER?!" slammed Donnie's words into his twin's heart, also breaking, full of despair, disappointment.
Leo didn't answer, just shook his head, still parrying Donnie's Bo with his Katana. His tears fell to the ground.
"Then you're just as much of a fucking traitor as he is!" growled Donnie, "and then you can perish just like he! Like you ALL HERE!"
The Bo made a cracking noise, glowing bright and purple abruptly.
"No, Donnie!!" shouted Mikey
"Stop that!" yelled Raph
A hasty movement beside him, made Usagi turn his head. The mutant had her hands up as well, but contorted her face in an insufficient attempt to block the Ninpo.
"Oh, DAMN IT!" called Mona, tapped her shoulder and shouted loudly, but in a trembling voice.
"Vee! Jenny! I need you here in the liar of your brothers! ASAP!"
"WHAT?" cried Draxum in complete bewilderment.
"WHAT?!" cried Mikey and Raph in complete surprise.
Donnie and Leo said nothing - raised their heads and looked into each other's eyes.
The Bo started to hum.
But at that moment, Donnie and Leo staggered - their hands raised to the same spot on their necks as if they were in pain. Their weapons fell to the ground. The Bo's glow disappeared.
"Haargh!" they made, then lifted their gazes to each other - knowing whose pain they were feeling.
"Shiro!" the twins whispered in perfect sync.
