"Nate, what's going on?"
"I have to tell you something," I say.
"What is it?" Alex asks.
"I like you. Will you go on a date on with me?"
"Yes," he says, hugging me.
Present Day
A: I can't wait for our date tonight ❤️
N: me too 💕
"Hello?"
"Is this Nate Hardy?"
"Yes. Who is this?" I ask.
"I'm calling from ___ Hospital in LA. It's about Colby Brock."
"What happened?" I ask.
"He attempted suicide, and you are his emergency contact."
"I'm on my way," I say, hanging up the phone and throwing some clothes in a bag.
I get in my car and drive to the airport. (Nate lives in Kansas)
But I forgot something important that I didn't realize at the time, I just dropped everything.
A: Nate, where are you?
A: did I get the day wrong? or the time?
A: are you okay?
