Bella was waiting in front of her house, anticipating his arrival. The car's headlights flashed on the other side of the road, and she spotted him all at once. His vintage car drew to a halt. As he climbed out of the car, Bella's face broke a smile and made her way and walked over to welcome him.
"I'll help you unload the bags." she said after kissing him on the cheek. Vincent parked the car in the garage as Bella carried the luggage. She noticed on the backseat.
"You brought a dog." she looked at it grimly.
"Yeah, I can't leave him alone. Name's Chewie, an American Eskimo dog. He likes to chew." Bella watched the dog grind his teeth disgustingly.
"He looks more like a dog to me." she said.
"He's a good dog. Hope you two get along."
"Would you like something to eat or drink?" she asked, ignoring Chewie.
"A cold drink sounds great." he requested.
"You should go into the house. You must be exhausted. I'll lead you to your room." she said.
Vincent followed her inside. After three hours of sleep, Vincent decided to go out to play with Chewie, as he usually does. They played tag in the yard. Bella stood on the balcony, watching them.
"Wanna join us?" he invited. She didn't answer. She looked away, walking into the mansion. How cold. She must be in a bad mood. Chewie grunted.
"It's okay." he said, patting the dog gently on his head. Vincent continued to play with him, but the dog had lost its enthusiasm. Vincent let out a sigh.
"Let's call it a day. Chewie." and they walked into the mansion. Vincent dropped in to Bella's room. There she was sitting on her bed, looking emptily at the window.
"You okay? he asked.
"I'm not" she grabbed a glass of water from the side table, then popped a tablet into her mouth. He approached her and stroked her forehead.
"Your temperature's okay." he said.
"I guess you just need to rest." He glanced to his watch.
"It's time for me to feed Chewie," he said, walking out of the bed.
"I'll do it." she said.
"You said you're not feeling well." he said, puzzled.
"I want to spend time with your dog." Bella grasped the door knob when Vincent held her hand to stop her.
"Let me do it." she said. Vincent then released her hand.
Bella put dog food on Chewie's bowl. She went into the kitchen and placed a few drops of unknown liquid on it. Next, she returned to Chewie and fed him.
"Now, be a good dog and eat this." she said, pushing the bowl to the dog's pout. Chewie sniffed it suspiciously. He took a few bites, soon it was followed with mouthfuls.
"Good dog." she said, rubbing the dog's head. Bella came back to the room, seeing the Vincent reading a magazine about dogs, sitting on the couch.
"How was it?" he asked.
"He ate his food." she said, rather unenthusiastically. Vincent returned to what he was reading.
"C'mon. Let's watch a movie." she said.
"Okay." he replied. He put down what he was reading. Bella turned off the lights and the T.V on. She got some popcorn and they slipped on the couch. She leaned on his chest and focused on the movie.
