The lone wolf

Chapter 5

The sun started rising, dispelling the light clouding that had covered the night. Zoro had fallen asleep at some point in the night, I stayed sat on deck keeping watch while gazing at the sky longing to even glimpse the luminous shine of the moon but to no avail.
Sanji was first up so he could get started on breakfast in peace, Robin was next up and I followed the two of them in to the kitchen and sat at the table, Sanji gave Robin and I both a coffee, it was lovely, bold and strong now if only I could find a man like that. I gave a wee chuckle to myself then noticed Robin reading and decided to ask her about her book.
Breakfast was the usual rowdy spectacle that I've now become accustom too, I just chatted to Robin through all of it about the different books we've read, Chopper even told me about some very interesting medical books he had read. Everyone went of to do their usual morning routines and I got myself another coffee. Love my morning coffee, so soothing yet bracing, once I was finished I decided it was probably a good idea to take a shower. With a sigh I got up and went to grab a towel and change of clothes. I was in my own wee world as I went to the shower room, I opened the door and smacked my face into a very solid surface, who put a wall behind the door? Opening my eyes and taking a step back I realised it was someone's bare chest, it was tanned and very muscular, the pecs and abs looked divine despite the gruesome looking scar that ran from shoulder to hip, I looked up to see Zoro looking down at me, oh, didn't know he had all this under that white shirt of his. He was wearing his trademark green trousers and had a towel draped over his shoulder but also wore a rather annoying smirk as he saw my reaction to his chest
"A bit dazzled are we mutt?" He gave a small chuckle as my ears flickered angrily, I gave out a small but deep growl before answering
" Don't flatter yourself arrogant swordsman, I was merely looking at your scar, since my species is mostly warriors we take great pride and interest in battle scars"
Zoro dropped the smug look for a genially interested one, I guess the idea of a race consisting of nearly all warriors interested him
"So your species doesn't see scars as a sign of not being strong enough to defeat your opponent with out injury?"
I frowned at this knowing it was not his way of thinking but I answered non the less
"No. If you win but are not scared then you defeated someone much weaker, that is a hollow victory, if you lose but are scared then it shows a hard battle and you deserve some respect for that, if you win and are scared then it shows you fought a hard battle and earned your victory."
"How come you don't have any scars then?" This question made me huff, I crossed my arms angrily as I glared at him
"I do have scars, I just don't go flashing my body unlike some, why not put your shirt on before coming outside and poking my eyes out with your nips"
Zoro laughed and walked past me beginning to dry his hair
"You just don't want to admit you like looking at me mutt, enjoy the view while you can"
This unexpected statement left me speechless, all I could do was growl before letting out a roar in frustration as he left, I heard Ussop scream from the other end of the ship due to my roar. Stupid arrogant swordsman, humpf, he ain't all that, stupid stupid head. I quickly went for my shower hoping it would calm me down.
The shower thankfully calmed me, I dried off and got changed into my black combat trousers, black combat boots with three red jaggy strips up the side of them and a blood red top with lace sleeves and thumb holes, the top showed the few puncture wounds on my arms and the three clawed scar just below the collar bone. I stepped out the shower room just as Nami was barking orders at the crew to get ready for docking as we approached the island.

I stood on the island looking up at the Thousand Sunny and couldn't help but feel a bit saddened at leaving this odd, rowdy and eccentric bunch. I was only with them a short time but I enjoyed it, they made me feel wanted again. With a sigh I walked away glancing back as the crew organised themselves, I couldn't say bye, for one thing Franky would crush me, Sanji would never let go and Luffy, Chopper and Brook would be bawling, I can't deal with that and admittedly I don't want to see them sad so I just went on my way.

I walked through town just browsing at the shops and stalls, I got a few funny looks from people as I wore my long brown coat with the hood up but I'd probably get even funnier looks if people saw my tail and ears so i like to keep them covered. There was a bitter, sickly smell in the air but no one else seemed to notice, damn my sensitive senses, there where a good few marines wandering about to, there must be a base around here, defiantly be better of keeping my head down. Well, I had my supplies packed and now just needed to find a boat that was ready to set sail, as I made my way to the dock though I heard shouting, as it got closer it got clearer
"SAKURA, SAKURA HELP PLEASE HELP"
I turn round to see Chopper running towards me sobbing
"What's happened Chopper, why are you so panicked?"
Chopper skidded to a halt in front of me tears streaming down his face
"The.... The ......the others, Luffy and Ussop were captured and Nami, Sanji and Zoro are surrounded, please help them"
"The crew is nothing to do with me any more Chopper, why didn't you go to Robin, Franky and Brook for help?"
"They had to move the ship to stop it from being sunk" Chopper clutched my leg and looked up at me still sobbing "please help them, please I can't do it on my own!"
What do I do? I can't leave them to be captured but do I want to risk a fight with the marines and possibly revealing myself for what I am......... A wolfish grin slowly spread across my face, my inner wolf was eager to fight, it had been a while, what the hell! I turned to wolf form, told Chopper to get on my back and let out an almighty howl and raced at inhuman speed towards where Chopper said everyone was, this will be fun.
