This is a really beautiful poem about how God will never leave us nor forsake us.

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it:

"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied:

"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

To know that no matter what, no matter where, no matter when, Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).

In the good times he walks right beside us and in the bad he carries us. We are never left alone in this world. We may be in it but we are definitely not of it. (John 15:19)

Deuteronomy 33:27 ~ The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemies before you, saying, 'Destroy them!'

Isaiah 46:4 ~ Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

Psalm 77:19 ~ Your path led through the sea, your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen.

Psalm 55:22 ~ Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.

When you can learn to truly give your cares over to the Lord you will be able to walk through your worst trials and tribulations with unspeakable joy.

2 Samuel 22:2-3 ~ and David said, "The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior - from violent people you save me."
