We don't belong on the Throne

Good morning all! I hope everyone has had a blessed week, and if not, I'm here for you. Just send me a  message and I will be praying for you and we can talk if you need to.

I'm gonna begin by saying that some of this will not be all of my words, but I was really taken by my devotional this morning and wanted to share.

My favorite worship song at the moment is Yours by Elevation Worship and if you haven't heard it yet please click the link above or search it up on Youtube.

It's such a beautiful song about God's power. And it's not only a worship song, it's a reminder.

A reminder for us about why we worship.

Elevation Worship reminds us that one of the purposes of worship is reorientation. "Since the moment sin entered creation, our natural bend hasn't been upward but inward."

People aren't looking up anymore. They're looking for answers in the wrong places and focusing on the problem.

When we aren't looking up, we're dismissing the place from which our help comes from.

Instead, we should be like a horse. Horses have blinders that keep them from looking left and right and keep them focused on looking straight ahead.

We need to focus our eyes on what's important.

Another purpose of the blinders is so that the horse won't get spooked every time it realizes that there is a cart following it everywhere it goes.

We need to realize that there are going to be problems in our lives. God never said that there would not be trials in our lives.

1 Peter 1:6-7

6 Because you know all this, you have great joy. You have joy even though you may have had to suffer for a little while. You may have had to suffer sadness in all kinds of trouble. 7 Your troubles have come in order to prove that your faith is real. Your faith is worth more than gold. That's because gold can pass away even when fire has made it pure. Your faith is meant to bring praise, honor and glory to God. This will happen when Jesus Christ returns.

Romans 5:3-5

3 And that's not all. We are full of joy even when we suffer. We know that our suffering gives us the strength to go on. 4 The strength to go on produces character. Character produces hope. 5 And hope will never bring us shame. That's because God's love has been poured into our hearts. This happened through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Our trials and tribulations are only meant to test our faith, make us stronger, and show God's grace and mercy.

Remember that when you go through trials and tribulations, that the praise belongs to Him.

We need to always look to and bow before the throne because that is where our help comes from. :)

Thanks for reading and before you lay down tonight, thank God and ask him to help you keep your focus. Get rid of anything that is disturbing your focus and continuously turn to God.
