"hey bora noona! come sit with us" chenle invited as he moved slightly towards the right to create some space for her

haechan was seated directly opposite which made it slightly awkward, thankfully jeno sat to her left so she felt more comfortable

"where's yeon? didn't she end class together with you?" haechan asked, breaking the ice a little

anyone could tell he was trying to make small talk with her and also he was genuinely curious where his twin was

"ohh she left something in class, so she asked me to go ahead first"

without hesitating, bora covered for her friend perfectly because haechan believed every word she said

"i'm gonna get some food first" bora said, standing up and haechan quickly got up too

"i'm going to get food for jaem and yeon, does anybody want seconds?"

silence hung up in the air as the two nosy ones, chenle and jisung looked from the pair to jeno and back to the pair again

"thanks hyuck but no thanks" mark, the well mannered child replied him to break the silence

"none of us too hyung, we're good" chenle also replied, waving his hands in front of him

nodding, haechan left the table, following behind her as jeno clenched his fists by the side of his body and the other boys saw it

why do i feel so powerless...

feeling the tension in the air, jisung and chenle exchange frantic looks and both decided not to say anything

haechan placed two trays on the metal rack as the food distributing aunties started filling their trays

"so how have you been..?" he asked the petite girl, next to him

are you serious hyuck... how have you been?? that's all you could think of???

"oh uhh.. i've been good. how about you?" bora replied, carefully moving the tray to the next station for the next food item

"i'm doing good too, the day yeon moved here was the happiest day of my life"

hyuck... what are you rambling about??

bora smiled at haechan, "yeahh!! yeon is such a bubble of laughter, i love her— "

"please keep the line moving.." one of the students from behind reminded as bora scrambled to move to the next station

and as she was not careful, she tripped over her foot and fell forward
