Steven and Peridot share their underground experience with the Cluster with Garnet, Pearl, and Amethyst outside the barn.
"It was so intense down there! We were already a few layers into the Earth's crust, WHEN SUDDENLY -- WA-PAMO! KA POWIE! All these gross cluster limbs started clawing at the drill. So, I whipped out the old Photon Blaster and, "PEW PEW P-CHOW CHOW! Take that, Cluster!". And Steven was all, "My feelings!", and then up and passes out on me! Then everything started glowing, and Turquoise jumped out the drill and bubbled it!... Well, yeah, wait."
Peridot clears her throat
"I'm sure Steven can fill you in on the rest since he and Turquoise are the ones who saved us. You should've seen it, right Steven? Tell 'em what happened in there!"
Steven, gazing at the barn, does not respond.
"Steven?" Peridot asks
"Hold on a sec. I'll be right back." Steven says
Steven walks to the barn to check on Lapis Lazuli and Turquoise, Lapis is lying on a bed made of hay next to Turquoise. She mumbles and shuffles next to Turquoise and gently grips his arm unconsciously in her sleep. Garnet then walks up to him.
"I see you're worried about your friends,"
"Yeah. When I saw her in my dreams, it looked like she was fighting so hard to keep Malachite from escaping. Turquoise jumped out of the drill, putting himself in danger for all of us, " Steven says, looking in the barn at the two unconscious gems
"Lapis spent an unbearable amount of time fused with Jasper. The emotional and physical strain of that type of fusion; I can't imagine. She's gonna need a lot of time to recover. And if Turquoise's first bubble was too bubble something that large plus the stress of looking you and Peridot added by the uncomfortable temperatures I can't begin to think of the strain that put on them, but they'll be alright" Garnet says
Steven sighs. "You're right."
"Come on, I'm dying to hear more about what happened underground." Garnet says with a smile, putting her hand on Steven's shoulder
Steven chuckles. "Okay." Him and Garnet leave Turquoise and lapis in the barn.
"Is he snoring again?! He does that a lot!" Peridot can be heard yelling
A few hours go by, Turquoise begins to groan and slowly opens his eye, rubbing his head to try and relieve some of the pain. He tries to sit up, but he feels a weight on his chest and arm. He looks down to see a blue arm and ruffled blue hair on his chest, illuminated by the moonlight lying on his chest. With his free hand, he moves the hair out of the sleeping Lapis's face and gently rubs her cheek before putting his hand behind his head to elevate it a bit
A few moments go by Lapis's eyes, now slowly open, and it takes a moment for her to register what was going on as Lapis and Turquoise look at one another with tired eyes
Lapis's eyes widen as she shoots up from the makeshift bed away from Turquoise
"Who are you?! Where am I?!" Lapis says defensively as the water pipes begin to rattle a little bit, Turquoise slowly sits from the makeshift bed and sits on the edge of it
"Can we calm down a little? I don't think Steven would be happy if you flooded the barn," Turquoise says, trying to ease the situation
"Steven? Where is he? What have you done to him?!" She asks, worried for his safety
"He should be around, but...wow..." Turquoise starts but is distracted by the full moon shining through the hole in the roof
Lapis steps forward but still on edge
