"mom can you drop me somewhere" i say leaning over the counter watching her cook
taking into account the snow storm blaring outside, i rather not drive myself
"yeah where" she says not looking up from the stove
"to get my hair braided" i say scrolling on my phone
"good im tired of these lace fronts" she says and i mug the back of her head
"lemme put this food in the fridge really quick then we can go" she says and i walk away to my room getting my purse and my coat
i hear my mom yell from the kitchen and i slip my boots on walking out towards the front door
she follows behind me grabbing her key as we head out the door
15 MINUTES LATER
"imma call you when i'm done" i say stepping out the car looking at the 2 story house
i walk up to door knocking waiting for a few seconds before hearing it being unlocked
the door swings open revealing a short darkskin girl with a few piercings on her face
"hi you must be Natavia" she smiles at me and i return it walking in taking off my coat putting it on the rack
"yeah" i reply
"i'm sonai" she says before following up
"you can go over there, i need to get some stuff before i get started" she says simply pointing to a room
i walk in sitting in the chair noticing the decorations and packs of hair
"so you wanted fulani braids right" she walks in with some shine n jam and a comb
i nod and she says ok walking to her station behind me getting everything set up
"you my last client today, i'm so happy" she says from behind me making me smile
"here" she says behind me holding a remote over my shoulder
i grab it turning the tv on
"you only got netflix? you lame as shit" i say silently judging cause who still even watch ts
"ok not too fucking much, i'm not bouta be paying multiple subscription" she smacks her teeth in the back of me
"imma log into my hulu" i say simply
"go right ahead" she says before i feel her yank my bonnet off
"ok you got beef with me or something? that was kinda aggressive" i turn around slightly frowning
