They were at their Map of the Soul 7 conference and Seokjin had just answered his question about his military service, causing Grace to glance at him out of the corner of her eye but made no move to comfort him or say anything in addition - after all, they had kept their relationship a complete secret from the media and ARMY alike for the past two years.
Someone in the crowd of journalists must have thought the mood needed lightening as they spoke towards Grace, who had just opened her bottle of water to take a sip. Speaking for over an hour tended to make your tongue drier than it did while you were singing.
"Miss. Chu," the journalist started. "You're turning 30 this year and you'll become the eldest out of all the members of Bangtan Sonyeondan. Are you thinking at all of the future and whether you'll be thinking of starting a family?"
As the question was read, Grace choked a little on the water she had just taken a good gulp of and hurriedly swallowed. Jimin, who sat next to her, couldn't help but laugh to himself as he handed his older sister a napkin.
"Thank you," she said to Jimin while dabbing at her chin then picked up the microphone to direct her gaze to the journalist. Namjoon and Yoongi already had hands around theirs, ready to spring in at any moment.
"Thank you for reminding me I'm turning 30," she sighed as the rest of the room laughed. "At this moment in time, I have no plans to start a family. I already look after seven boys and I have no plans of increasing that number. I hope, maybe one day that a family could be on the horizon, and that I would be lucky enough for that to happen. However, I don't believe a woman's age or status dictates when she should do anything - I'm enjoying life as a billboard singer who has an amazing group of people around her and these boys mean everything. So to wrap up the answer to that question - no."
She levelled her gaze to the journalist and rested her microphone on the table, causing Yoongi to laugh behind his hand while Jungkook mimed 'mic drop.'
