An alarm blared and awoke the passed-out, Eleanor.

"Shit, did I sleep here?" she mumbled quietly to herself. She could feel her cheeks redden at the fact that anyone could've walked in and seen her sleeping. Eleanor rubbed her eyes to try and wake herself up and soon realized that she had slept in makeup and it was now definitely spread around her face.

Great, what an excellent start to the day!

As Eleanor turned the corner in the dimly lit hallway, to try and locate a bathroom, her footsteps faltered when she stumbled upon a sight she couldn't believe. Before her, stood a mesmerizing and mysterious portal, defying explanation. Its colors shifted and swirled in a dance of vibrant hues, casting an ethereal glow around its edges.

Curiosity mingled with trepidation as Eleanor cautiously approached the enigmatic portal. She had never seen anything like it before and had no idea where it came from or what it could lead to. Her heart raced, yet she couldn't tear her gaze away from the captivating display before her.

The swirling depths of the portal seemed to beckon her, offering glimpses of strange and fantastical landscapes that flashed by in a heartbeat. Her imagination ran wild with thoughts of what might exist on the other side - distant planets, magical realms, or perhaps even different points in time.

Unfamiliar symbols and glowing runes adorned the floor around the portal, adding an air of ancient mysticism to the scene. Eleanor's mind raced with questions, but the answers remained frustratingly out of reach.

Despite her apprehension, Eleanor couldn't resist the allure of the portal's enigmatic power. She extended a hesitant hand, feeling a gentle tingling sensation as her fingers hovered close to the rippling edges. Uncertainty warred with curiosity within her, and she took a step closer, her heart pounding in her chest.

"Can I help you?" came a questioning, masculine voice from behind her. As Eleanor turned to see who was watching her, she was met with a tall very handsome magician? No... maybe a wizard, or a quirky teacher of sorts. He was adorned in a lush cloak that swished in the non-existent wind like it had a mind of its own.

"Uhh, sorry I was just looking," El replied in an apprehensive tone, unsure of what this man will do to her.

"That's quite alright. I haven't seen you around before, are you new?" The tall man prodded further. His brown eyes now glowing with an almost green aura.

"Umm, yeah I'm the new assistant Miss Potts hired," Eleanor murmured as she found herself drawn to the peculiar medallion hanging around the sorcerer's neck. The pendant was a strange-looking eye of sorts. It was glowing with the same aura as the man's eyes were.

"Dr. Stephen Strange, sorry for my lack of manners," he gave out his hand for El to shake as the green light slowly dimmed. A warm smile flashed across his weary face.

"Eleanor but everyone calls me El," Eleanor returns, shaking his hand. "Sorry if this comes across as rude but what are you?"

A low chuckle escaped his mouth as his hand comes up to cover his mouth. Habit, probably.

"I'm a sorcerer, a master of the mystical arts. And this," he  motioned towards the pendant," is the Eye of Agamotto, a tool I use to protect and defend the world against powerful mystical threats." He bragged seeming quite proud of himself.

Eleanor could tell that the doctor knew his importance but wasn't always given the opportunity to brag or in fact for someone to even ask what his job entailed. Maybe she liked providing a safe space for this stranger.

As the conversation continued, Eleanor found herself being drawn deeper into the world of magic and mysticism that Dr. Strange inhabited. He spoke of ancient texts, otherworldly realms, and battles against unimaginable forces that threatened to plunge the world into chaos.

"I must admit, I never thought I'd encounter something like this," Eleanor admitted, gesturing toward the mysterious portal. "It's all so surreal, like something out of a fantasy novel."

"Ah, but that's the beauty of our reality," Dr. Strange replied with a glint of excitement in his eyes. "There is more to this world than meets the eye. It's full of wonder and mysteries waiting to be unraveled."

As the hours passed, they talked about their respective lives, sharing stories of their childhood, dreams, and aspirations. Eleanor found herself entranced by Dr. Strange's intellect, wit, and passion for his work. He was unlike anyone she had ever met, and she felt an instant connection with him.

Their conversations turned from the mystical to the mundane, laughing at funny incidents and discovering shared interests. Time seemed to lose its meaning as they spoke, and Eleanor felt like she had known him for much longer than a few hours.

Eventually, Dr. Strange offered to show Eleanor some of the basics of magic. He demonstrated small enchantments, making objects levitate, and conjuring beautiful illusions. Eleanor was amazed and eager to learn more.

Over the next few weeks, Eleanor and Dr. Strange spent a lot of time together. They became inseparable, delving into the mysteries of the universe and practicing magic side by side. They shared their deepest secrets and fears, building an unbreakable bond that defied explanation.

As they grew closer, Eleanor couldn't help but wonder if there was something more to their connection. She had heard stories of soulmates, people destined to find each other across time and space. Could it be possible that she had found her soulmate in the form of a sorcerer?

Stephen had brought her through the portal and showed her the Sanctum. Where he had learnt all of his magic and wonder. He didn't normally bring strangers here but there was something special about El that made him want to trust her with his life.

That night they sat atop the Sanctum Sanctorum, watching the sun set over the city, Eleanor gathered her courage to ask the question that had been lingering in her mind.

"Stephen, have you ever believed in the idea of soulmates?" she inquired, trying to sound casual but feeling her heart pounding in her chest.

Dr. Strange turned to look at her, his eyes filled with an intensity that made her breath catch. "I must admit, I've always been a man of logic and reason, but since I've delved into the mystical arts, I've learned that there are forces at play beyond our comprehension. The idea of soulmates is not entirely impossible."

Eleanor took a deep breath and continued, "I feel like there's something special between us, something I can't explain. It's like we've known each other for a lifetime, even though we only met recently."

Dr. Strange reached out and gently took her hand, his touch sending a warm sensation through her entire being. "I feel it too, El. It's as if the universe brought us together for a reason, beyond what we can understand."

Their eyes locked, and in that moment, they both felt a profound connection that transcended time and space. It was as if the universe had conspired to bring two souls together, destined to find solace in each other's presence.

Nothing could break their moment of tranquility until a sudden thought appeared in Eleanors head.

"Shit! I have work!"
