escaping hell part 2

It had been 2 weeks since the trial and I barley left my room . I wanted out of Chicago I was gunna talk to Hank tonite.

I received job offers all the time from all over the country. One especially stood out.

This would be the perfect time to go. I'll miss Chicago and Hank but I need to leave . I arranged with my uncle for my kids to stay there this school year. He argued whole heartedly especially after the trial.

When Hank got home I had made dinner and was already packed.

"Hey kid thanks I'm starving"

I had called the captain in la and he was excited to have me. I could start Monday. In 4 days.

I got the red eye and as Hank ate he watched me. "What's goin on kid uv got that look"

"I'm leaving " I said.

"Sarah he's on jail " Hank started

"For 2 years he'll be out and I'll be in danger again . If I leave it'll be less chance of him to find me or the kids." I said in tears

Hank got up and engulfed me in a hug . "If this is what u want do it" I smiled and nodded.

"Where u gunna go" he asked sitting back down

"I got a job offer at LAPD "

"Nice when u going " he asked

I took a while to answer

"Sarah" he said

"I got the red eye tonite." "I gotta go Hank"

He looked down then got back up and walked out. I thought he was pissed but he came back in with an envelope. He put it in front of me. I opened it and inside was 75000 dollars.

"Hank I can't take this. " I said looking at him

"U can and u will . I wish it didn't have to be like this but I get it. " He looked at me .

"Hank ....before I could say anything Hank got up and engulfed me in a hug. He looked in my eyes and put his lips to my head .

We broke apart . "I love u but I know I have to let u go. " He said as he released me

I followed him into the living room . "Hank what are u doin" he was grabbing his coat "takin into the air port "

"I have 8 hours"

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have assumed. I'm gunna miss u. "

"Hank uv been like a dad to me hell at this point u are my dad "

He turned back around and laughed "I guess I just adopted ya"

We both laughed and sat on the couch

We talked for hours and Hank officially became dad to me. I'm going to miss him.

When 2 am rolled around Al had showed because we called him And I jokingly told him "well Hank basically adopted me so hi uncle Al" he laughed and we all got out of dads SUV. I had to go because my flight left at 3

I hugged dad and al and kissed Hank on the cheek. Bye dad" I turned and didn't look back.

6 hours later I arrived in sunny Los Angeles

Dad arranged for a hotel for a month and got a driver to pick me up. The driver held up a sign that said 'voughts kid'

I laughed and approached him

He took he to a hotel not far from head from headquarters . I could walk it. Had slipped the money in my bag . I laughed and put it in my bag so I could go find a bank and some food . I start in 2 days but I figured I'd go say hello today.
