CHAPTER 10

"In order to win in this game, you have to study your opponent, Alessandra. Hindi nakakatulong ang pag-iyak!" mariin at may paninindigang sabi niya. She's really far from the Kavanagh I know.

"I heard about the Del Prado's organization before but I just shrugged a shoulder about it. Who would have thought that we will be in this situation? I should have dragged my interest back when I can still investigate." she frustratingly said. I don't have any idea at all.  I didn't even know such organization exist. I thought this only happens in the Telenovela or such fictional dramas but here I am, experiencing it first hand.

"Since you killed Anastasia, it's either you wed Marcus or Martino will kill you. Prepare yourself, Alice. Plan things out before he execute you. Dapat maunahan natin sila." ilang minuto kaming natahimik ng makarinig kami ng sunod-sunod na putok ng baril, pagpalo at mga daing. The tranquility became chaotic. Nagkatinginan kami ni Kavanagh. Umusbong ang kaba sa sistema ko. Hanggang ngayon ay hindi ako masanay-sanay sa tunog ng dahas. And I don't think I will ever get used of it.

"Matagal-tagal ding natahimik ang lugar na 'to." I looked at her bemused. "I don't know what happened but after you left, the chaotic place became peaceful."

"Maybe because he sent me almost half of his men?" she shrugged.

"Maybe, he's fuming because you are nowhere to be found." she shook her head.

"Hindi ko talaga mabasa ang kung ano ang tumatakbo sa isipan ni Marcus." neither I am. He is so unpredictable.

"What the hell are you? Blind?" I can almost feel the horror hearing Marcus' voice. Muling umiling si Kavanagh.

"I may be right somehow." she murmured. Natahimik kaming dalawa nang bumukas ang pinto ng kulungan. I hurriedly hide myself in the dark. Sumiksik ako sa pader para pagtaguan ang kung sino mang pumasok. Just like in mystery/thriller movies, the only thing I can hear is the footsteps of the killer. Fuck, imaginations!

"I will kill you all once you haven't found her in 30." he said, voice is coated with anger. Nagmamadaling mga yapak ang sunod kong narinig. I barely breathe. I feel like when I breathe he'll hear me. Kapag nakita niya ako dito ngayon, he will formulate ideas already, specially once he saw me near Kavanagh's Bastille. Hindi niya dapat ako makita dito!

"Mukhang may hinahanap ka." I closed my eyes when I heard the mocking tone in Kavanagh's voice. "Seems like your Queen had left." she said, adding fuel to the tension.

I saw how he stopped on his track and face Kavanagh on her Bastille. Nakatayo palang si Marcus pero ramdam na ramdam ko na ang awtoridad niya. Alam mo agad na delikadong tao siya.

"Can't hold her anymore?" tumawa pa siya ng nang-uuyam. Even I, I'll get irritated in her tone. She sounds like a villain provoking another villain. Kinakabahan na ako ng sobra. Pakiramdam ko sa sobrang lakas ng tibok ng puso ko ay maririnig na ito ni Marcus.

"Bakit mo naman kasi pinadala pa sa malayo para ipapatay? Tapos maghahanap ka ngayon? Magulo ka din, e." Kavanagh. I just want her to shut her mouth! Hindi nakakatulong ang pang-po-provoke niya kay Marcus.

"Shut the fuck up!" his voice thundered. Pinigilan ko ang sariling suminghap. Even my breathing feels so loud. Narinig ko ang iyakan ng mga nakakulong. They are afraid by his mere voice, what more of his presence?

"Tug tug tug." Kavanagh playfully said. I closed my eyes tightly. Fuck, Kavanagh! Ako ang natatakot para sakanya.

"Have fun. Enjoy the chase. Hide and seek is fun with a little twist, Mr. Del Prado." she said. I opened my eyes and I saw her laid her back on the floor like an unbothered Queen. Narinig ko ang mariing mura ni Marcus. My heart is pounding so darn fast as I watch Marcus take a step.
