CHAPTER 11

The first thing I felt when I regained my consciousness is the pain of my back. Sobrang sakit. Nakakapasong sakit. Minulat ko ang mga mata ko nang hindi gumagawa ng ingay kahit gusto ko ng uminda sa sakit na nararamdaman. My vision were blurry. Maliwanag lang pero malabo.

I closed my eyes again. Malinaw na ang paligid nang muling buksan ko ang mga mata ko. My lips are dry, the reason why I can't utter a word. Tanging ang paningin ko lang ang naigagala ko dahil hindi ko maigalaw ang buong katawan ko. Para akong naparalisa ng sakit ng katawan.

Bandage were all over my body. Hindi basta-bastang mga benda na gawa lang ng mga tauhan niya. It was done by a professional. I remembered Marcus asking for a physician. Ilang beses na akong nasaktan at ito ang unang beses na pinatingnan niya ako sa Doctor. Tinubuan ba siya ng konsensiya? I doubt. Wala sa bokabularyo nila ang salitang 'yon. Having no conscience is the qualification of the organization.

I'm inside my room. Naalala ko rin na buhat akong nilabas ni Marcus sa kulungan. Why is he suddenly acting strange? Siya naman itong nag-utos sa mga tauhan niyang parusahan ako kaya hindi ko maintindihan kung bakit parang pinagamot niya pa ako. Is the world finally healing?

"She's awake, Mr. Del Prado." napatingin ako sa nagsalita. It was the physician I often see in the Mansion. Is he also part of this organization? O kagaya ko ay nakakulong rin siya dito at pinapakinabangan ang serbisyo? Pero mukhang hindi naman siya napilitan.

I tried to move my hands to point the water but I can't even lift a finger. I tried to utter a word but no sound came. Gusto kong uminom.

As the attending physician, I think he knows what to do. I saw him getting the bottle of water at tinapat niya iyon sa bibig ko. Uminom ako doon. I emptied the bottle.

"How are you feeling now, Ms. Louvre?" he asked. Hindi ako sumagot. If it isn't obvious yet that I am miserable right now.

"You still have fever. I advise you to rest for the time being. Malaking factor ang mga sugat mo kung bakit ka nilalagnat. Let your wounds heal and avoid physical activity that will tire you." he's giving me his advices when Marcus entered the room. Mabilis na tingin lang ang binigay ko dito at tiningnan na ulit ang Doctor. Pero bumaling naman ang Doctor kay Marcus at mukhang ito na ang kakausapin.

"As I was saying to Ms. Louvre, she needs to be away from any tiring activities as of the moment especially that her wounds are the cause of her fever. Her food intake should be also on time for the fast recovery. I already prescribed her medicine, Mr. Del Prado. Please make sure that she takes her medication on time." the physician explained to Marcus. Hindi ko alam kung nakikinig ba si Marcus dahil wala sa Doctor ang atensiyon niya kundi nasa akin. And as if he cares. He'll probably do the exact opposite of what the Doctor said. I know him. Hindi siya ang tipo ng lalaki na nag-aalaga. Siya ang rason kung bakit may kailangang alagaan.

Marcus didn't say anything. Bahagyang tumikhim ang Doctor.

"I'll visit her regularly to check on her upon your request, Mr. Del Prado." doon niya nakuha ang atensiyon ni Marcus. I saw how the Doctor smirked when Marcus glared at him.

"You're going to check her regularly because that is your job as a Doctor." Marcus said in gritted teeth.

"Not unless you say so. I obey by the rules of the organization. And you are the ruler of this organization. I shall only obey your words, Mr. Del Prado." nabakasan ko ng paglalaro ang tono ng Doctor. Mas sinamaan siya ng tingin ni Marcus.

"If you really want to keep her alive, follow me this time, Marcus. Stop with your irrational and inhumane punishment. Avoid tiring activities. Do not fuck her! I mean it." the Doctor said before leaving us alone. Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala sa naging takbo ng usapan nila. He's no ordinary Doctor. Pwedeng may malalim siyang relasiyon kay Marcus kaya nagawa niyang magsalita ng ganun. Walang karapatan ang mga ordinaryo nilang tauhan na magsalita ng ganun kina Marcus.
