Starting this year, Formula 1 is set to launch an all-female driver category, the F1 Academy, to develop and prepare young female drivers to progress to higher levels of competition – including W Series, Formula 1, Formula 2, and Formula 3 and after qualifying today I'm considering joining.

"Everyone should have the opportunity to follow their dreams and achieve their potential and Formula 1 wants to ensure we are doing everything we can to create greater diversity and routes into this incredible sport," said Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali as he stood on the stage welcoming everyone.

I was sat on a table between Max and Christian, we'd been invited to come out and support the project and it wasn't even a doubt in my mind to come along, even after the day I'd had.

He continued, "That is why I am delighted to announce the F1 Academy that will give young female drivers the best chance to fulfil their ambitions through a comprehensive programme that supports their racing careers and gives them everything they need to move into F3 and hopefully to F2 and then the pinnacle of Formula 1. The more opportunity there is the better and this is designed to provide another route for the drivers to succeed."

I was proud to say that I was apart of this process coming to life, after the Jimmy Fallon show last month Stefano reached out to me and my struggles in progressing to formula one and that many other girls  experience the same thing and thus F1 Academy was born.

When I was speaking to him it was just an idea, we hadn't spoken since the drugs issues and the whole off the team situation but I was glad he followed through with the idea, "We would like to welcome formula ones very own Quinn Carter to the stage, she has been fundamental in helping us with this project." Stefano mentioned.

Thankfully I was aware that he would do this, "Go tug on the heart strings Quinn." Christian whispered as I got up from my seat, the whole event was televised and Christian had been preparing me for it since the moment I was back on the team.

He wanted me to guilt trip people into liking me and ultimately so did Lorenzo, so here I was, Max helped me up and walked me over to the stage, "You know, you're shit at walking in heels." He whispered as he helped me up the steps to the stage.

"Cheers." I laughed at him before standing next to Stefano and Susie Wolff who was the managing director of the F1 Academy. Susie Wolff is my idol by the way!

I was grateful that I could just read the speech I'd written from the projector, "Today's announcement is a very important commitment that will ensure young female drivers get the very best opportunity to begin their professional motorsport career and climb the ladder to the top by developing their skills and experience in the right way and with the right level support."

"Quinn why are you supporting this if you're already in formula one!" Someone shouted from the crowds of people, many teams in F1 had come to this event to show support but some people were completely random.

I looked over to Susie, she simply shrugged. Of course I had to be the one to be heckled, "Um diversity is extremely important in motorsport and in F1 Academy we can prove that female drivers have what it takes to compete at high levels and we hope this category will inspire more young girls into the sport."

"Why aren't you in F1 academy then Quinn!" Someone else shouted from the crowd of people, I actually can't deal with these people, Christian was looking me dead in the eyes as he mouthed "they want you to react, don't"

Thankfully Susie came over besides me, "Quinn hasn't entered the driver academy because she's already proving to young girls across the world that they can do it, not to mention we would like to welcome Quinn into being a co managing director position?"

I turned to face her, my mouth wide in shock, "What? That's not- are you serious?" I asked her, I always assumed that Mercedes weren't a fan of me considering George was adamant I was a drug addict and I'd never spoken to Toto unless he was flirting with Christian.

"Absolutely! Quinn would you like to accept the role of managing director for F1 Academy?" She asked, obviously I could still drive in formula one but I'd be stupid to pass this opportunity up especially on live television.

"It would be an honour!" I squealed, hugging her closely as I tried to read the monitor, "I have always struggled to get to where I am today and I feel so privileged to drive alongside the boys each weekend, this opportunity is crucial for many girls trying to progress in the sport and I'm so happy to work alongside it and now with it."

Max and Christian were smiling, finally I was doing something right for the team, "Thank you Quinn, we'd now like to welcome the drivers of the first season up to the stage."

"Oh, one moment," I told him speaking into the microphone again as the crowd laughed at my awkwardness, "On behalf of red bull racing, we would like to donate €25 million to the F1 academy, thank you everyone!" I smiled and ran down to my table again as the crowd clapped and Susie and Stefano thanked us on stage.

"Did you know they were going to offer me that role?" I asked Christian as I sat down besides them, whispering so we didn't appear rude.

"Everyone knew but you." Max told me smiling a little, but I couldn't help but look at Charles across the room who was holding his thumbs up to me signalling a good job.

dickhead ❤️
Quinn watching qualifying back I'm absolutely horrified, in fact I'm angry that someone would do that to you and your car. I had no idea that happened when you didn't get on the track. You looked beautiful tonight, gorgeous Mon amour. I don't know why it's taken me this long to text, i think I'm afraid the kiss wasn't real or you regretted it. But I still love you and I want to be with you, if you'll have me.

Quinn
I love you idiot.

dickhead ❤️
That's my girl.
