Wendy POV

I reached the delivery room to see Mirajane. Sting and Rogue were there to support her. They looked like they were about to die from her.

"Hi, Mirajane. I'll be delivering your baby today."

"Please don't tell me I'm having another miscarriage."

"Of course not. You're in labor."

"What about Laxus and my kids? Are they okay?"

"I'll have someone check on them-"

"I'LL DO IT!" Rogue shouted.

"Okay then..."

Rogue left the room with only Sting by Mirajane's side. I checked her cervix to see how dilated she was. My face dropped at what I felt.

"Is something wrong?" Mira asked.

"I feel the baby's buttocks. You need to push hard."

"I'm fully dilated?"

"Almost- have you been feeling contractions today?"

"I thought they were Braxton Hicks and the baby kicking."

"You're 8 centimeters dilated. You'll be in labor soon."

"Wait, I can't have this baby without Laxus. I can't have this baby alone."

"You're not alone," Sting spoke and walked up to Mirajane's side. "I'm here." He held her hand.

"But Yukino is in surgery."

"I need to distract myself. I can't think without the thought Yukino can die."

"Dr. Dreyar-Clive is one of the best. She'll be just fine." I reassured Sting.

Delivery...

"One more hard push, Mira!"

"AAAAAAAAAA-" Sting and Mirajane screamed together.

"There she is-" My face fell.

"What? Is everything okay?"

I couldn't respond. The baby's brain was missing.

"Wendy."

I laid her baby in her arms.

"I-I-I'M SO SORRY!"

I dashed out the door. I ran into Cassandra.

"Wendy! Hey! Slow down. Did Mirajane have her baby?"

"I made a mistake."

"What?"

"I thought I felt the baby's buttocks, but it was their foot. She delivered her naturally. The baby tore, and they have anencephaly."

"Oh, my god. Is she okay?"

"I left. I couldn't handle the tears."

"What. Wendy Marvell. You are going back there, and you explain to the mother what happened. She has no idea what's happening, and the father of her kids could die. She needs all the support and explanation she can get."

"I understand."

Sting POV

Mirajane just delivered her baby. Wendy ran out. We looked at her baby. Cassandra and Wendy came back in.

"Excuse me, Dr. Marvell needs to explain what happened."

"I'm so sorry. I made a mistake. I thought I felt the baby's buttocks, but it was their feet."
