Five and I leave the building with Klaus behind us and join the semi-circle that has been formed near Ben's statue. So, in a way, it's like Ben's here too.
"Did something happen?" Our robot mom, Grace, asks.
She was always so kind to us as kids and I'm sure she's the same, since she is a robot, but I'm confused that she doesn't realize what's happened to Dad...or even tried to help him the night he died...seems a little suspicious to me.
"Dad died. Remember?" Allison answers, looking over at her in concern.
"Oh..." Mom says in a sad tone. "Yes. Of course."
I raise an eyebrow. "Is she okay? She seems a bit...off. Diego?"
Diego nods. "Yeah, yeah. She's fine. Don't worry. She just needs to rest. You know, recharge."
We all shared a very close relationship with Mom, but Diego was and obviously still is, a mama's boy. He was always the closest to her.
She's been a much better mom than my biological one. My biological mom didn't even want me and sold me to Dad. How very considerate of her.
"Whenever you're ready, my dear boy." Pogo remarks, looking at Luther.
Luther takes the lid off the little urn and turns it upside down, making all the ashes fall out into a small pile and I mean really small.
"It probably would've been better with some wind." Luther notes, and for once, he's right.
"Seems like an awfully small pile for a grown man." Five whispers loud enough for me to hear.
"I was thinking the same thing." I reply, also whispering.
I know Klaus was with the urn earlier, trying to call Dad, since Luther ordered him to. By the look on Klaus' face, something's up. So, I go inside his head and the answer is shown almost immediately to me.
I successfully get out of his head without him even knowing I was in it to begin with and go inside Five's head. 'I just went inside Klaus' head and saw that he knocked over the urn earlier, spilling some ashes.'
Five looks at me with a nod. I was expecting him to be a little surprised, seeing as I haven't been able to talk to him like this in a long time. Then again, this is Five. He's not easily surprised.
"Does anyone wish to speak?" Pogo asks and no one answers. I do have some words, but not any nice ones.
"Very well. In all regards, Sir Reginald Hargreeves made me what I am today." He continues. "For that alone, I shall forever be in his debt. He was my master...and my friend. I shall miss him very much. He leaves behind a complicated legacy-"
"He was a monster." Diego interrupts, speaking truthfully, making Klaus laugh breathlessly, which made me look at him with a raised eyebrow. "He was a bad person and an even worse father. The world is better off without him."
"Diego..." Allison warns.
"My name is Number Two. Just like how your name is Number Three." Diego continues, ignoring her. "You know why? Because our father couldn't be bothered to give us actual names. He had Mom do it."
"Would anyone like something to eat?" Mom asks.
"No. It's okay, Mom." Vanya answers.
"Oh." Mom nods. "Ok."
Diego steps forward and almost straight into the pile of ashes, but nearly misses it. "Look. Pay your respects, if you want, but at least be honest about the kind of man he was. A terrible man. Don't even get me started on the kind of training he had me and Y/n do when we were younger."
