After about two hours of sleep later, I feel myself getting shaken. So, I open my eyes and prop myself up on my elbows.

I squint at the clock, that I can barely see with just a lamp light on. "Five...it's three in the morning." I rub my eyes and stretch.

"I'm sorry to wake you, but I wanted you to at least get some sleep in before we left." He replies.

"Left?" I fully sit up. "Where are we going?" I ask.

"MeriTech." He answers.

"Ugh...not this again..." I mumble under my breath. "Can you tell me why we need to go there?"

He sits down beside me, as I put my shoes on, and pulls something wrapped out of his pocket.

He unwraps it, revealing a glass eye. "I found this while I was in the future. I think whoever this belongs to could be the cause of it...the apocalypse."

I stare at the eye with disgust evident on my face. "The building would be closed right now and you know that."

"Exactly. That's why we'll wait in the car until it opens." He replies.

"And do you have a plan for when we go inside?" I finish tying my shoes.

"Yes. Come on. Let's go." We get off the couch and quietly leave the room, then Five jumps up to the car.

I lean my head back to rest it against the headrest, but I can't reach it because of my sudden height change.

I sigh. "You know...I'm honestly surprised that you haven't said anything about me going in your head at that mess called a 'funeral'."

"That's because you never left my head to begin with." He replies, starts the car, and drives away from the apartment complex. "While I was in the apocalypse, I mean."

"What?!" I exclaim. "How?"

He shrugs. "Not entirely sure...unless." He glances over at me. "Did you try going inside my head right before I left?"

I think back to the day he left and remember that I did go inside his head. I nod. "Yeah. I did...wait. What if that has something to do with why I'm in this shitty body again?"

"I've been thinking the same thing." He replies. "It's why I've been saying that I'm not completely sure yet, but it doesn't make sense as to why you changed when I came back. You weren't there with me."

"I wasn't there physically, but I guess, I was sort of there in a mental way. So, maybe that's what happened?" I shrug.

He shakes his head slightly. "There has to be a better reason as to why it happened to you."

I yawn. "You're right." I lean my seat back and try my best to get comfortable. "Wake me up when you start to go in."

"You should have approximately three hours, forty-eight minutes, and twenty-three seconds of sleep before it opens, so...sleep well." He replies.

I look over my shoulder at him with a small smile. "Thanks..."

"So...mind telling me what your big plan is now?" I whisper to Five, as we both enter the building, MeriTech.

"Just look lost. We need someone to notice us first." He answers, also in a whisper.

As soon as he said that, a man enters the lobby, where we are. I tap Five's shoulder and point at the man, making Five turn around to face the man.

"Uh, can I help the both of you?" The man asks.
