~ Y/n's POV ~
We make it back to the Academy and check all the rooms in the house and so far, no one has found her yet. We've checked upstairs and downstairs, but we can't find her anywhere.
"No signs of Vanya." I hear Five report.
"She's not in any of the rooms." Diego replies.
"She isn't downstairs either." I inform, making Five turn around. "Klaus and I both checked everywhere."
Diego lays a hand on Klaus's shoulder. "Well, I'm out." He walks over to the stairs.
"Wait. Wait..." Klaus tries.
"Where are you going?" Five asks. "Vanya's still out there and so are Hazel and Cha-Cha."
I tilt my head slightly. "Does the end of the world mean absolutely nothing to you?"
Diego stops and turns around. "I'm going to get my things and then I'm out of here. I've got unfinished business with those fools." He walks down the stairs.
"Klaus..." Five starts. "Did Dad say anything about the apocalypse when you spoke to him? Any clues as to how it happened?"
He sighs. "No. No clues. Truly terrific shave, but no clues."
Five just scoffs and begins walking down the stairs with Klaus and I following him.
Klaus continues. "You know, come to think of it, he did mention something about my potential and how I've barely even scratched the surface of my-"
I roll my head around in a circle. "Klaus, he asked if Dad said anything about the apocalypse, if not, then how the hell did he know about it?"
"I don't know." He replies. "Just listen to me. This whole jumping though time thing that Five does, how did...how did you know to do that? Like, how did you know you had this power?"
"I didn't." Five answers. "You'd realize that if you were actually sober."
"I am sober." Klaus whines. "I've been sober for two- almost two days now."
I nod. "Exactly. Only two days, but it's much better than usual."
"It feels like forty-five years..." He mumbles.
"Who are you kidding, Klaus?" Five asks. "I've seen you fidgeting all day."
"Well, I guess we're both fighting our addictions then. You've even got one more than I do." Klaus replies.
I raise an eyebrow at Klaus. "He's not an addict, though."
Klaus looks back at me over his shoulder. "Oh, yes he is, dear sister. He's addicted to two drugs. One's adorable and the other is just really annoying. They're called you and the apocalypse."
I raise an eyebrow. "Huh? Me?"
"Yes. You heard me right. While you were gone with Allison, he had nothing to do with us. He just wanted to go out looking for you to make sure you were safe." He replies.
'Really?' I mentally ask.
"I'm not addicted to the apocalypse!" Five exclaims. "And I wasn't the only one worried about her. You were too, you idiot!"
Klaus shrugs. "Yeah, I was. At least I'm admitting to it. You, my dear brother, are in denial." He turns to leave, but Five jumps in front of him. I feel like I should cut in, but I am speechless.
"You and I, we're not the same." He seethes.
Klaus chuckles. "I've seen that look before. It's the look of someone not knowing who they are without their high anymore. You can keep that one." He points at me. "But you've got to let the other one go."
