twenty three

it had been weeks since lewis and sarang had left their little slice of monaco heaven. sarang had spent that time in complete business mode, with the book release date creeping closer and closer she had a million things to do and places to be. now with the release just a day away she was finalising everything for her launch event and party.

lewis was equally as busy, after his packed trip around africa he had returned to his bustling world of meetings and press responsibilities. the belgium, netherlands and italian grand prix had come and gone and he was back into the, sometimes frustrating, world of formula 1.

despite their conflicting schedules the two didn't fail to find moments between to speak to each other. texting each other little updates through the day and random facetime calls had become common between the two. lewis found himself frowning when his phone dinged with a notification and it wasn't her name.

it was funny, he had friends he kept close and leant on and support each other but lately none were coming close to the peace of mind he got from speaking to sarang. everything about her was a breath of fresh air to him and as much as he was enjoying it, it was also scaring him.
he won't actually admit these feelings he's having to himself though, no, instead he'll push them to the back of his mind and pretend they don't exist. pretend that him and sarang are nothing more than the friends with a few benefits that they parade as and that the possibility of her also feeling these emotions doesn't exist.

he once again pushed these thoughts out of his head as he made his way to the familiar home of said woman. lewis had flown out to california for his small break between italy and singapore after spending a few days with his family in england. if anyone asked it was because he wanted to be with roscoe in his malibu home and definitely not because sarang was having her book launch and he definitely had to be there to support her.

sarang almost hated the warm feeling she got when opening her front door to see lewis as much as she loved it. after so many weeks without seeing him she couldn't help but let a big gummy smile take over face as she greeted the man.

"hey im looking for a best selling book photographer and vma award winning director, have you seen any around here?" lewis pretended to look around and squint dramatically as he spoke with a smile on his face.

sarang playfully rolled her eyes and gave his shoulder a little shove as they walked into her home.
"no i think she skipped town when she heard some hot shot race car driver was in the area."

"ha ha ha. her? hide from me? never"

the two let out laughs as they sat on the couch where sarang had a few snacks laid out on her coffee table and a movie on standby. kai and kuma had heard the pair and came rushing to the lounge room jumping to the couch to greet them.

sarang watched as lewis petted them and greeted them with his little dog dad voice. as he messed around with them for a bit, she couldn't help but smile at the domesticity of the moment. a feeling she found herself wishing she could experience more.
