Shiryu spends the day teaching his friends how to use chopsticks.

The weather for today is sunny and cloudy mix.

[April 21, Saturday - week 3]

The BBs are gathered in the lounge, sitting completely bored out of their minds. Since there is nothing to do, Shiryu decides to use the opportunity to teach his friends how to use chopsticks.

"We'll be here for three years of school, so we must know how to use chopsticks. I found a box filled with spares in the kitchen and brought them to the table. Let's head there now."

"Better that than doing boring homework, sure," Seiya says.

They sit in the dining area, and Shiryu opens the chopsticks box.

"I understand you use spoons, but if you're going to a traditional restaurant, you must know this."
"Traditional?" Hyoga asks.

"I would say places that are retro."

"I say restaurants owned by old people," Seiya says.

"Yes, something like that." Shiryu shrugs with sweat.

He picks two sticks from the box and opens them.

"This will seem complicated at first, but the more you practice, the easier it will be."

Box lunches are served, and he hands a pair of sticks to each.

"It looks like I'm holding two pencils," Seiya says.

"It looks that way. The trick is to hold the lower stick so you can move the upper one."

Shiryu does a simple demonstration, which amazes his friends, who emulate his demo.

"This is really awkward..." Hyoga mutters.

"That's because you're not used to them. Try picking up something thick."

"So if we do that, then chopsticks will be super easy," Shun says.

"Of course!"

Each boy has a green lunch box of fried chicken and rice, typically served for dinner. However, they're used here for the sake of demonstration.

"Picking one at a time takes forever, so I'll scoop all at once," Ikki says.

"Most of us do that. That's perfectly acceptable."

"Ah! How do you do that?" Hyoga asks.

"Hold them sideways and grab them from below."

"Oh, I see. That makes it easier to eat," Seiya says, mimicking.

Seiya finishes his bowl and casually lays the sticks on the table.

"Let's not do that. Put them over the empty bowl instead," Shiryu says.

"You mean like making a little bridge? Got it!"

"Can I use them as a spear to poke around?" Hyoga asks.

"No, don't do that either."

"What about pointing them right up?" Ikki asks.

"No."

"Can we share then?" Shun asks.

"You shouldn't. That's even worse."

"Is there anything else we should know?" Seiya asks.

"That's the basics, so you should be okay. But if you're having problems, just keep practicing."

"Okay! Yes, sir!"

They put their practice into action by eating the rest of the meal, to somewhat mixed results.

"This is still difficult. Imagine if you're in a rush," Seiya says.

"I get it, but many of us manage to do it. It's a matter of practice."

"If we go to a restaurant, we wouldn't just eat this. Right?"

"Of course not. You can eat other types of food too."

"I see, so that makes sense. Practice makes perfect."
